I have a 2000 Crown Vic with a 4R70W and I'm looking to swap out the stock 11.25" converter for a PI Stallion but their site only shows converters made for pretty much every RWD Ford auto except the 4R70W

Which model did you get?

I was thinking of going with a 3500 multi-disc locking converter... the car is a daily driver that I will be used on the track as well.

The "Stallion" converter is the one for the Marauder. As far as your car, you just call recision Industries. And another thing is(and they temselves will tell you this over the phone ) that you do NOT have to buy the triple plate model. That one costs $300 more than the single plate Stallion does, and they told me that the only advantage for that extra $300 would be if you're going to program the computer to have the converter locked up completely all the time for the race track. And in that case even then you'll only see an extra 2 tenths of a second reduction in your ET's. But you would NOT want to do that on a car that is driven on the street.

So call them up. If they have a Stallion converter for your car (which might be the same one as for our Marauders) then I highly recommend this converter(the single plate one). It alone reduced my ET's at the track by .70 seconds, and Precision Industries garantees a minimum reduction of .50 seconds. Furtyhermore I wouldn't recommend that you go w/a stall speed any higher than 3,000 RPM's for a street driven car(and neither does Precision Industries recommend it either) because it will cause excessive heat build-up in the Transmission(NOT good). I have mine at 3,00 RPM's. But it will also soften up your shifts, but who cares about that since it makes your car faster.

Hey i see you're a .50 BMG shooter... what do you use? M-82 or a variant, M2, or a competition single shot?

A friend of mine with a Mark VIII bought a 3200 stall PI stallion and he doesn't have a whole lot of mods (4.10s, cobra intake, headerz, exhaust, no engine stuff)...

So the 9.5" 3000 RPM, single disc Stallion is what I'm looking for? I do not believe the 03 Marauder 4R70Ws are radically different from my 00 4R70W in that it would require a different converter, but I will give them a call.

How much am I expecting to pay?

I was thinking that it might be an unspoken rule to avoid mentioning prices of some parts on here, but on second thought, I don't think so since I've seen atleast one of the vendors on here do that. So in rsponse to your question concerning prices, the usual amount for the single plate stallion converter is $800. The triple disc one is $1,100 but like I said, you really don't need that one. The single plate one is great.

I have two 50BMG caliber rifles. Both of them are single shot bolt action. the one I just bought last year is a Barret model 99. I shhot some match grade stuff out of it, as well as some military stuff too. It's fun to shoot. I luv it!!! it gets the attention of everyone else at the range as soon as I pull the trigger too.

Dennis has a "group buy" going on right now. Give him a call at 904.276.5003 for details. If he can get 10, they will come in at 725.

Why is it the stuff I don't need is on sale, and the stuff I want is out of stock...

yes, I agree that you should call Dennis Reinhart. Just be sure to tell him that you don't have a Marauder, but that this would be for a 2000 Crown Vic to make sure that you can still use the same converter. Or just call Precision Industries to make sure first, and then call Dennis.

Ok will do re: the converter

Model 99 eh? Nice model! If I had the money I'd go for a Model 95.
What ammo do you use?

match grade from a place called TTI Armory which includes the Hornady brand A-max bullets(not cheap!). I have a 50BMG RCBS reloading press, and some day I'll start reloading when I run out of ammo. I'm pretty well stocked up right now. Yeah, the model 95 would be nice to have, however a bolt action is inherently more accurate. Besides, in my homestate it's illegal to purchase a semi-auto 50 BMG rifle. Which ofcourse is a rediculous law. There's never been any crimes commited w/a rifle of this caliber.Even the semi-auto version merely has a 10 round magazine, these rifles weigh 25lbs, and are 5 feet long. Where are you going w/that?

So they aren't reducing nor preventing any crime w/a law like that. Crazy liberals. That's what you get when you have people making gun laws who know absolutely nothing about firearms, nor have they ever even shot one.

The Model 95 is a bolt-action rifle with a 5 round external bullup magazine.

The M82A1M (aka M82A3) is the semi-auto with the 10 round external mag... and it can jam in the field from what I heard. The bolt-action .50s are more reliable as well.

But yeah, it's a super bulky rifle that you can't use as an "evil assault weapon". :D

Yep, you're correct. I was thinking about the model 82 like you said. Thanks for the correction.
