Green DTR in Michigan

Has anyone seen this Green DTR in Michigan that is for sale? Just wondering about it. I don't know why anyone would paint a DTR Green :eek: But, at least they didn't paint the door jambs. So, it might be an easier job to make it a true DTR again...

seriously yeah we've all seen this green marauder for sale. if I recall it has a the blue oval ford logo on the trunk instead of the mercury waterfall emblem

It's been there for sale for quite a while.
I think by the time someone bought and painted it they could have just bought a DTR.

yes that is the conundrum. I don't think anything is wrong with the green car mechanically (other than the color), but the time & effort required to convert it back to a DTR is just not cost efficient.

IMO great starter Marauder for someone not disgorged & sickened by the color, but who has time & patience to nurture it back to glory.

I am on a budget trying to buy one of these instead of a P71 Crown Vic. That one might work. Even though they changed the color, at least they didn't appear to have changed the color around the doors. That would be hard to fix. I think just doing a repaint wouldn't be that bad, assuming the rest of the car is up to par.

Has anyone SEEN the car or driven it?

I believe the rear bumper is a blue CV bumper...there were some places on one of the corners where the green is scratched off and reveals blue.

There have been several threads on here about this car...might want to find them before seriously considering buying it.

i bought a bumper off a guy who said he knew the owner who painted it green. he claimed the car is sound otherwise. it has been there long enough certainly the dealer would be willing to come down on price.....

I tried a basic search for green DTR and didn't really see anything specific threads about this car like I thought I would. The guy is supposed to send me some pictures today on it so I can get a better idea about the condition and how involved it would be to bring it back to its original color.

I'd like to see somebody save the green monster, you'd be sort of a celebrity if you bought it. I know it's popped up several times and may be able to purchase cheap if its been for sale this long...and is maybe in better condition than the other MM you were looking at....

Hmmmm.... :hmmm: Never been a celebrity before! ;) But the DTR's are cool and I like the sunroof option. BUT, the guy still hasn't bothered with any pics yet. My Brother in Law lives minutes from there. It could be an easy deal....

Hmmmm.... :hmmm: Never been a celebrity before! ;) But the DTR's are cool and I like the sunroof option. BUT, the guy still hasn't bothered with any pics yet. My Brother in Law lives minutes from there. It could be an easy deal....

The guy sent me a few pics this am. Looks like there is alot more work than a new paint job. It seems that the driver rear qtr got smacked pretty hard and the repair job is horrible (VERY wavy). Also, it looks like the entire TOP of the center console is missing including the shifter handle (just a metal rod sticking up).

7-8k and you can have a nice MM with 100-150k miles if you hold out and save up a bit.

Crap I have to call the painter tomorrow and get a different color. Green will not do.

There is another 03 in Chicago Heights Illinois that was painted burnt orange, did not sale for 16k and they just repainted black. When I called they told me it was a different car. Did a drive by of course to discover they lied
