Changed fuel filter BUTTTTT...

I neglected to change my fuel filter since I bought the car (1 year ago, and i've put 21,000 mi on it since then+ what was put on it before purchase ). On the outflow the gas was crap brown. Were these particles going into my engine, and possibly leaving deposits???

Likely a little water in the tank and that was rust you saw. New filter and fresh gas will clean anything out.

The larger filter you need is:

Motorcraft – FG800A (larger than stock, use hose clamp to secure it to stock bracket after bending the bracket to fit)

You also might want to pickup a package of retaining clips:

NAPA - FILNCK11 – qty. 10 fuel filter clips

That was what I was originally thinking...Thanks guys.. And yeah I was looking at putting a f150 filter on..heard it was same fit. I just put oem on this time, because I know it needed it
