this past week it rained for 2 days straight and we got 3" of rain. I go in my trunk to grab some stuff and notice it's wet. I pull the trunk liner up and there is a good inch of water in my trunk. I pull the entire liner out and on the sides of the trunk between the quaterpanel skin and behind the wheel well both sides have a couple inches of water in there.
I took a quick glance to where the gas filler is a notice the rubber seal around the filler neck isn't screw into place, so that explains the driver side, but what about the passenger side?
Are the tail lights known to leak?
anyone else have issues like this?

I had a gm about ten years ago that was getting water in the trunk also. one of the body seams by the right hand tail light wasent sealed properly. found that by spraying the entire trunk area, back window, etc. with a garden hose.

My '92 MGM had an issue like your describing, I sealed around the tail lights and the problem was cured.

My crown vic had an issue like this what I Had to do was go in my truck lay down and have a buddy dump water on the car .

What I found out when I was in the trunk with a flashlight . That 2 leaks were bringing in water. The 1st one was the rubber window seal was creaked and the 2nd was my trunk lid was not lined up right about a 1/2 inch off .

Hope this helps and good luck

If your trunk was pointed uphill at all the water can't drain and may have spilled over the seal into the trunk. I park with the rear of the car pointing down hill for this exact reason. The front of the car seems to have more places for water to escape.
