Why JLT? More air or .....

How much $$ do you want to spend and how do you want it to look?
Performance is the same w/either. I have the JLT - need to be careful aligning everyting or you will wear a small spot on the underhood liner @ the T/B elbow.
I believe a few people may have had some wear on the liner by the filter shroud/shield on the K&N but I have no direct experience w/K&N.

As long as the performance is pretty much the same I won't switch
Thanks

K&N is limited to the stock MAF unless you cut and trim.
JLT also has an open element air filter right behind the fresh air hole on the core support. I thought the K&N was a closed front.
I'll stick with the JLT just throw the useless shield in the garbage, it hurts more than it helps according to my dyno sheets.

It is hard to beat the OEM! I wouldn't be surprised if the OEM is the coldest.

I tend to agree especially since the OEM intake breathes air that is completely separated from the engine bay.
"Hard to beat" is subjective I guess. In the end its 1) sound preference and 2) dyno numbers

Did you get your tune adjusted to modify the shift schedule for the new gears?

Yeah, sure did...really seems like it lightened that back end. Shift is really aggressive compared to that lazy factory shift.
Question ...for a n/a with the few mods I have it developed 277rwhp, think it can do more?

I think it is personal preference actually....I have had a K & N for a year or so and am very pleased with it...sounds great when hitting the go pedal.
But...other installations look good too.
Which one can you get a better buying...that might be the deciding factor.

I have had the K&N since I picked up the Marauder in 2010...pricey compared to the JLT

Keep it stock, the aftermarket CAIs do nothing but look good.

I have a K&N if you're looking for one. Had it on my Trilogy Marauder for a few weeks and didn't care for the whistle. $190 with MAF.

I respectfull disagree. I know there was a difference in my car with the JLT. Seat of pants was more noticable than the 4:10s. The Mo tune brought it all together but the JLT was noticable.

For me the jlt is the best. The k&n. Is limited the jlt is not. My trillogy makes ,550 up @ the crank and 600 lbs torque . 440 & 480 on the wheels!! If I port the blower its another 50 +. The k&n. Can't support it. Thewhine out of the jlt is friggin awsome!!! Your call I've had all 3
