View Full Version : Pedal Problems?

My pedals haven't moved since long before I bought the car so this past Wednesday I ordered the gear from Curless and had it in my hand on Friday (holy cow that was fast). I followed the repair instructions to a T and the pedals still don't move. :bigcry:
Is there a fuse I should check or do I need to take a Voltmeter to the assembly? The factory gear was one part of the problem, since that was cracked right through.

Make sure there is power to the pedals. If not, check fuse # 602 (20A) in the power distribution box under the hood, behind the battery.

Thanks I'll check that our.
Another question... Any idea what this is? It was hanging down after dropping the courtesy cover.

Your car have a remote start? That looks like the box where a key would be installed to override the PATS.

Does that tan wire penetrate the firewall?

No remote start and it does not penetrate the firewall. As far as I could tell, it just goes straight up into the dash and ends on a banjo bolt type of thing near the adjustable pedal switch. I will try and get more pictures tomorrow.

Need a better picture. Definitely not a factory piece. The factory doesn’t tape things up like that! looking at it I can see clips on either end that would pop into a square hole. It might be a leftover dash light from an aftermarket alarm. Is there any holes in the dash? If not, the guy may have not wanted to cut a hole and just stuck it up there. A better Pic would help though.

Also, the fuse is still good. Seats still move and power lumbar works as well

Are you getting power to the pedals?

Disconnect the cable going to the brake pedal assembly and see if the gas pedal moves...

Fbm, i don't think I'm getting power since the gas pedal does not move with the brake cable disconnected

Do you hear any sounds at all from under the dash when actuating the switch? Any clicks, clunks, humming...anything? If not, then you have either a wiring problem or the pedal motor is croaked.

Check if you have power at the 7 pin connector.
Pin 2 - power at all times
Pin 1 - power when operating switch forward
Pin 7 - power when operating switch rearward
Pins 3, 4 & 6 - grounds
Pin 5 - interior lights
If no power, check fuse #602 (20A) in the power distribution box under the hood, behind the battery. You can swap it with #118 (ABS) to test
