I buttoned up everything today and I fired the car up and no good. It won't idle, it has a horrible miss, it smooths out as it revs up to try to stay alive but it will barely run. The pass side pcv is holowed out, and the drivers side is hooked up to the back of the blower. The car sounds like its running on 4 spark plugs. I pulled a plug out and it was covered in fuel. I don't know where to start
lilmarauder

Also my boost gauge is at 15 for vacuum when it first starts and slowly goes to 0 and stays there. It won't make boost. It actually made vacuum as the rpm's climbed. I have the boost bypass teed with my frps on the BOTTOM boost port. I understand this port only sees boost. And my air fuel goes from super lean at initial start up to super rich just before it dies

Do you still have the n/a tune loaded in the car? Check the routing of vacuum lines.

+1000000, I'm thinking vacuum line or vacuum leak.

Also, that boost bypass needs to see regular vacuum. Only the gauge and FRPS should be hooked up on the lower port. Did you run the vacuum to the bypass valve bottom or top? Top needs to be left open to the atmosphere to work correctly. < Zack taught me that this weekend. See. Still learning, it never ends.

Top gets the vacuum and the bottom left open.

Don't forget to plug that port really well on the zip tube.
And remedy this too.

I have a Supercharger tune,
The boost bypass is hooked up wrong. It is on the lower port of the Supercharger. but its on the upper nipple of the bypass valve itself. So I got it half right.
Justbob, Joe did call me back after he talked to you. He pretty much stayed on the phone with me during the whole ordeal.
I'm gonna buy a new marauder pcv and install it on the drivers side.
Another error on my part was I didn't plug a a small hole on the intake tube, so the car saw that as a huge vacuum leak.
The car threw a map high input code too, hoping its because of the hole I left open in the intake.
When I fix these things ill fire it up and post a video of how its running.
It made me sick to my stomach when it happened but i think it will get better when I fix these things. Last night my buddy said welcome to modding, its a part of it

Make sure you have no vacuum leaks and your tune is for the MAF and Injectors that you have installed. If you have an open PCV system, the tune must be setup for this, otherwise have it use metered air like stock does. The Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor must be connected to manifold pressure, not just vacuum.
justbob

Is there different versions of the bypass valve? I could have sworn the last one I did we hooked the line to the lower one? Do you have a mighty vac to test with?

Ok I will call my tuner and verify everything in the tune. Thanks for the help
The frps is connected on the lower nipple of the blower, which sees boost? I thinks that's how I should have it hooked up.

Justbob I could be very wrong but I think they are all the same. But I can change it around if need be
lilmarauder
04-09-2013, 05:16 AM
Also I just dicovered that my iac is mounted backwards. The connector is facing my steering wheel not the pass side fender.
Does your intake smell like fuel? If the FPRS diaphragm fails it will dump fuel directly into the intake, Once all your vacuum leaks are fixed and your lines and such are routed properly and you still have fuel dumping you may have popped it. Do all the other stuff folks suggested first.
lilmarauder
04-09-2013, 05:31 AM
I didn't smell fuel but its a good possibility I damaged it. Will do. Thank you

Fired it up and Doused it with carb cleaner. No change in idle. It's making more vacum as it revs up. It's like everythings backwards

Blower impeller on backwards?
I mean DAMN unlikely but that would do it.
Would it even run?
You could try reverting to N/A tune. Perhaps tune corrupted? Should limp along on N/A tune at idle.

A typical Eaton swap will idle perfect with the stock tune. In fact very drivable with just pinching the gas up to 1,900 RPMs. After that, detonation.
Did you multimeter the MAF, and the TPS per the link Joe gave you?
Did you use a gasket for the throttle body? Upside down?

Great write-up! Maybe change the oil if you have not yet. Wet plugs and poor running may have diluted your oil, so it would be a good idea.
Take it to the dyno when you get your new parts so all the goodies work good together and have a nice running and safe car. :burnout:

Hotford, its there. I trailered it up there Saturday morning. They are gonna swap the fuel pump, try to get a tighter belt on, look everything over and give her hell. I hope it puts down good power. It does have sewer pipes on it cause of that stainless works exhaust. I'm nervous
I don't understand my belt situation. I've got a 53 1/2" on part #k080530 and the tensioner is maxed out, but I couldn't get the 53 1/8" part# k080525 to go on. It was super tight but its only a 3/8 difference. The tensioner has more than 3/8 stroke. So I'm gonna let them handle it. I don't get it.
