I have a cobra longblock and need a suitable engine cradle as it may be some time before I can install it.
Which one is recommended?

Do you mean a engine stand?
Harbor Freight has them cheap.

Not bad for the price.

I've seen those and have read mixed reviews.
I'd rather get one that the engine can sit on, so to speak.

At a quick glance, ebay has some, have to buy your own casters or buy their caster kit.

Added: These are the same ones Summit racing sells

I've seen a lot of people use the bottom of a shopping cart.
I have one at the shop made from 4 4x6's and 4 casters works great.
