the above link finally shows exactly what I am looking for. It's a double din DVD player where the screen comes out flush with the opening itself. perfect, no trouble with the dashboard overhang..and it looks sweet! this is what i'm now saving up for. plus wireless remote so you can still get an adapter to use the steering wheel volume and seek buttons...

It looks pretty cool. I have never heard of that brand before. Is it European or something?

i think it's Northern Cheap-yo, but no one else i have found makes one that will fit a double din and not extend the screen outside the receiver unit itself, and it has GPS capability if you get a GPS locater unit it will plug right in the back of this.

NecVox is the name brand

Here you go my friend! You can this thru Crutchfield. I was considering it myself.

I don't think a double din head unit will fit in the Marauder. Ford uses strangely sized openings. I believe it is just a tad bit smaller than a double din.

That radio is the same as the rosen r6500. From what i hear, from rosen, its discontinued due to too many problems. I stay aways from it and pick up a pioneer screen, or kenwood, any of those will do!!
Frank

P.s. Putting the screen where the heater controls is the best location for a screen.

Frank,

I hope its not on its way out I am just getting ready to purchase one :shake:
I just talked to Rosen corp office a couple weeks ago. They said they just got the NAVI in for testing so that they can start selling it for the R6500. They didnt make any mention of it being discontinued. Did you talk to them directly?

I dont believe that Rosen is cheapo stuff....just european. If someone knows diff I would like to know before I buy.

I liked the rosen over the kenwood because it lights up green like the factory deck and does not look so aftermarket with the silver trim and logo's. And I am not a big fan of the pop out screens. I really like the flush look.

You now have me worried that I will buy it now and it will be canned by Rosen right after.

At bestbuy, we sell used to sell rosen products, so i had a direct line to rosen, i called them up to ask about the r6500 and i was told they were discontinuing it. They are very hard to find, and thats what makes me believe that that wont be out much longer. but who knows, its its a great radio non the less!!

The new Kenwood DDX7015 is a better choice...If I didn't already have the Pioneer 6500.... :)
