Open injector(s), misfiring cylinder(s).

Be Carefull. depending on the amount I was told it can wash out your bearings.

When I had a misfire from my maf, I smelled the dip stick and it had a strong gas smell after being told that by my buddy. Not sure how true it is about washing bearings.

Petrol is not a good lubricant. I don't know the allowable percentage of fuel dilution of the oil before it becomes an issue, but under normal circumstances should be <2.0%.

Multiple really short drive cycles. like 1 mile commutes to work.

Think about it....

Gasoline will dilute oil.....

Diluted oil is NOT a good lubricant.

I've seen it a few times. When I was a mechanic. One of them was a subby that was a 90' with only a few thousand miles on it. The owner literally drove it 1 mile to work and back. Didn't change the oil over time and had 2 year old oil in it with only like 1200-1500 miles on it. When we pulled the drain plug I swear 1/2 a gallon of fuel/water came out before the oil did.

When cold your engine adds fuel. On top of that the rings are at their smallest. Also moisture can build up in the oil too when it doesn't get to operating temps. Ever see all the condensation go out the tail pipes of your car? Imagine that in your crank case instead.

She always wondered why the car only got about 10mpg.

A good friend of mine has the same issue. He has his own work truck and the only time he drives his own vehicle is when we meet up at the gym, which is about a mile from his house. His little I-4 Ranger not even breaking 40mph averages around 12mpg.

Super short drive cycles are hell on engines. Keep in mind like I said 1-2 mile trip and the engine not getting to operating temp.

15 minutes at operating temperature with a functioning PCV system and the gasoline with be swept out of the crank case otherwise it will continue to accumulate along with moisture!!:(

Ya gotta drive 'em if ya want 'em to last!!
