Show me your Key Fob!

What does the Marauder Key Fob look like? OF COURSE, just one more thing that is missing from my Marauder. Was going to start asking around to see about finding one or two, but I don't know which style it is.

I got this from the PO. It has "2004 Marauder" engraved on the back.
I don't know where he got it, he had all kinds of stuff like this.

MM's just came with the (2)keys and the (2)remote thingy, PATS I think it's called and a valet key.

If you want a key fob your on your own. I found an old leather style Mercury one (Black) and the SB uses a Craftsman spark plug gapper (round).

No key fob came with the MM, unless you mean the remote key fob.

Exactly what I mean! The fob that has the buttons to open doors, lock doors and trunk. Usually has a panic button, too.

Its important to get the right one.

It needs to be:

Part Number: 3W73-15K601-AA
FCC ID: CWTWB1U343
CAN: 1788A-FWB1U343

Any other will not work.

Since you don't have one you'll have to take it to a dealer to get them programmed to your Marauder.

Or try this:

1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 3 seconds, with the 4th time
ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode.

2. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will
cycle to confirm programming.

3. Within 20 seconds press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks
will cylcle to confirm programming.

4. Turn ignition to OFF.

eBay has alot of them for sale. Search for "3W73-15K601-AA".

yeah just making sure. I've seen the key fobs for sale on eBay for cheap but have heard to program them to your vehicle you have to take it to the dealer & they charge quite a bit. if there is a faster & cheaper solution, I'm all ears

It's been too many years now to remember, but I bought at least one off Ebay for dirt cheap and he included instructions. If it didn't work you were fully refunded. So my thinking, and I could be wrong, the dealership isn't needed.

Now keys, yes, you have to have two functional keys or its dealer time. Or just wipe the PATS out in the tune..

I do only have one key. But that shouldn't interfere with programming the remote, should it?

I have also seen the PATS keys on eBay. I wonder if I should pick up one, too. I expect the key itself would have to be programmed by the dealer?

Anyone do one of these yet?
This is a Ford one but they do make a mercury one too. It's for newer cars but program the same I've seen a few guys do it. I think it would be cool but I already have 2 keys a valet key and 2 fobs would kinda be overkill

Thanks for all your help! I just decided to order two new keys and 2 remote keyless entry fobs. It sounded like if you didn't have two working keys, you had better order two new keys. I will keep you all posted on how it works. I probably got high grossed on the key fobs, but they matched all the criteria posted earlier. Most of the ones I found on eBay initially came up as Marauder key fobs, but then when you put 2004 Mercury Marauder to verify it works, it always said "not compatible".
