This is the last day of having the Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's on my car.

I have been running these tires for over 5 years on my car and absolutely love them! :lovies:

Goodyear discontinued these tires years ago but I have still been able to get them from a distributor in Colorado. (Thanks Knine)

But now with the front tires needing to be replaced I decided to go with something new all the way around.

So enter the NITTO 555's.

I went 2 sizes wider in the front from a 235 to 255's and the rear I went 1 size wider from a 255 to a 265.

Here are some side by side pics of the Goodyears and NITTO'S.

Fronts

Nice Doom, I run the 265 50 18 all around! I raised the rear just a touch so it's still got rake... plus they can be rotated

555's are good for the drags too - 25 psi - cook and they will hook!

You'll need to correct your Revs Per Mile for the Speedometer to read correctly. But in your case in might be better to leave it be as the speedo will read about 2 mph faster than you are actually going.

255/55 was 694revs and 265/50 is 709revs

I will probably looking to replace my rears this year as they are just less than 50% tread if I has to guess.

Nope 265/50 fits very nicely on the rear BUT you need to go to a shorter front tire to keep the stance/rake look. The 265/50 is just a hair smaller than the stock 245/55 rear tire.

There are some who run a 295 on a stock wheel but that's to hairy for me to try.

That's not purple it's BLACK. Probably looks purple from the flash. That's the rotor hat. Either that or just your deep obsession with the color purple! :cool4:

but (knock on wood) I had no issues diving to/from KY this year

Your thinking is backwards here. What you need are wider wheels :D
Did you have to cut your shock tops off for the 295's to fit?

this is correct, however I'll have to save up some scratch for those widened wheels. in the meantime I've got 4 sets of Nitto NT420s sitting in my garage so while im saving up ill just roll with those.

I am not sure what you mean about "cutting the shock tops".. the 295s are on my rear, not front. I have OEM bfgs on the front

I run these same tires on my ride and so far last summer they where very sticky and handled awesome! I could turn on a dime and the launch was perfect, so slip. I have 265 rear and 245 front and they sit great. As far as rain goes, i encountered the rain only once and they were quite sketchy. Definitely more of a dry performance tire. I took a turn, (thank god it was 2 am) going only average turning speed and they began to hop out a bit and put me almost sideways. Gave me a heart attack but i pulled out of it or I would have been introduced to some nice green grass haha. So in the rain be super careful and take it slow. Off lights too if its raining they would spin a bit so you really have to go light on throttle. Other than that these tires are sick! Love em!!

:D If you only knew! If there haven't been any probs yet, there never will be any. I should get up under there and take a pic so everyone can see the space. I know some shops will put bigger tires requested on while the car is on the lift and they will rub, not realizing once the car is off the lift and sitting, they will not. If I remember correctly, Ken (nh muscle) has wider tires than I on stock rims.
