can't believe I'm saying this.... but I'm really tempted to sell my Marauder right now for another one that I just fell in love with.

has anyone else felt like this? parts of me say "no, don't sell" because your current Marauder is an extension of yourself & modifying it your own way is a journey in & of itself

but the other part says "holy crap yes! this Marauder has everything you want!"

I'm torn. wife says I can't have it unless I sell my current one first plus all the parts from my old marauder.

decisions, decisions

Sell. I bought awhile back a 96 Fleetwood. Color was ok but I decided to two-tone it and have the top done etc...Then I came across a 95 Fleetwood Brouham about 6 months later that was color I would have gotten if I had bought these Beasts new. Not a second thought, traded nearly even and never looked back. It would have cost WAY more to change the original for what the trade up cost me.

What does your current Marauder not have that this other one has?

Miles compared to one another? Colors?

If selling and buying gets you to where you want to be. Then go for it man!!

I've thought of de-modding my Merc in order to buy another DTR but with heated seats and moon along with the light flint. My DTR/light flint did not come with any options at all.

PLENTY OF TIMES!!. If it's appearance u want repaint it or buy new wheels!. Drivetrain? Eaton swap it!. In the end you know your car and its pros and cons, this other car is a mystery. Can have 45k miles on it but soon have a mechanic failure. I bought mine at 56k and had trans overhauled at 2 weeks of ownership. I still wanna start over at 107k miles but with reconditioned heads and brand new trans with 1500 miles on it will be better to fix what bothers me then replace her. Plan on fixing minor things, S/C and repaint her.

Yes, TELL US !! what did you find that captured your heart so quickly? (and you can prolly convince the better half that the spare parts you have now would/could be useful with the "new" one as well).

Yes..I've wanted to sell mine and buy another..a couple times now and I've also thought about selling it in a year or two or three and get something that has readily available parts...Superchargers, bumper covers, etc. i really enjoy the uniqueness of my Marauder..4 door with vortech whistle..still want a roots whine and low end grunt, but happy i at least have one and made it soemthing different than what it was. If i were to run across the right thing at the right time,,you never know what might happen.

this one has supercharger plus a lot of other bells & whistles that are on my bucket list right now. 86k mileage so it's 20k more than my current ride. that seems to be the only downside

same here. I am wondering if I jumped on my 2nd marauder so soon after my accident. should I have waited for the right one? I don't know.

honestly I don't think I'm going to sell it but I have a template in mind now for what I want my Marauder to be.
thanks for the replies!

Can't tell if serious or not. I would pay that to have mine converted. Do they need to be newer? Mine are far from perfect.

You need to have your wife talk to mine! She told me to buy my fourth one, the DBP, after we got it she claimed it as her own. My second one I bought to modify then I found one already done with more than I was going to dobut it was in Las Vegas. When I posted about someone to look at it for me I was offered the opportunity to buy another one in Florida that had even more done to it for the same price. So you never know what will happen! Good luck with your choice!:beatnik:

I'm with you on this thought.

Tim "The Toolman" Taylor once said: "If you didn't build it yourself, it's not really yours."

lji372

but the real life tim allen said this:

Q Your character on "Home Improvement" is always working on a hot rod. Have you ever wanted to build such a car yourself?

A The last one, the '32 I had a hand in, didn't come out real well. The new one we're building at my shop is the '46 convertible. I have a big hand in this. I don't actually do hands-on with it. It's similar to the Impala-I get to design it, go to the shop, and say let's try this or this. The last time I built a car, I built a Baja racer out of a Volkswagen, which turned into my passenger car, which is not a good choice. There's basically no heater in a VW. Even at 100 mph in first gear Volkswagens don't push enough hot air through that track. It was horrible. But, unlike relationships or anything else, cars are pretty simple and I think that's what attracts men to them. Plus, this need for speed and horsepower: the more the better. I have no idea what happened to me; I used to like English cars: Austin Healeys, road courses, and that stuff. Drag racing is a whole different ball game, and I'm enjoying myself. This is what I used to do when I was a kid.

Unfortunately this a tough situation that only you can answer. My first Marauder was a car I loved, had 410s, CAI, Headers and a tune. It had a number of problems that I just kept fixing because I loved the car. But then a funny thing happened,
Mike from Chicago sold his beautiful Blue to Barry, and I started kicking myself for not going after it. I really started having an affinity for the Blues. A year later Martyo sold me his Blue and then two months after that CWright sold me all my mods and the rest is history
