Its getting time to replace the OE shocks and Ive heard lots of good about the QA1s, is there any more clearence when having widened rears? my tires are about 1/4 from the OE shocks on the back.:shake:
Maybe I still need wheel spacers:dunno:
Where has a good price on these shocks?

Don't know if this applies to the Marauders but every QA1 product I've delt with on multiple mustangs has been crap. This includes their shocks, struts, control arms, and K-members. Its some of the clunkiest/squeakiest stuff you can get.

I have never used them but based on my readings here I'll stay away from them as well.

^^^^Yep^^^^ Got a set on the rear of mine, you have to make adjustments, which for those that don't/can't turn a wrench, will be a problem. Or those that don't want to take the time to dial the parts in.
If I would have listened to people on this board about mods, my car would be just like all the rest. The crowd is full of those that say not to do things, very few times is it because the product is a POS.
I say......go big, or go home.

I know how to adjust shocks and turn a wrench. I drive my car over 12K miles a year all year long - rain or shine.
Naake service sucks and QA1 shocks that I paid over $900 for leaked out through the rod seals in less than two years.
They never came w/the corect mounts/bushings/front coils and Naake really could care less about making it right.
Your money - spend it how you like!

We could probably argue till the cows come home. I've bought many things over the years that hasn't lasted, anymore, everything is made as cheap as possible it seems. Recently, I bought a Bosch instant hot water heater, 12 year warranty, too bad the warranty is void if their product is exposed to light, it seems everyone's customer service stinks, that guy was screaming at me when I hung up on him.......
I do see that Naake specifically lists a product for the Marauder now, several years back, I don't think that they did.
I guess in short, no product is perfect, they will all fail eventually, the instructions are always vague, the warranty will always be void..... So, if it's a hardship to have to make a repair after one of these failures, stick with stock.......

Clearance on the Qa1s is much better since the Qa1s body is narrower than oem and the piston rods mounted at the top of the shock:banana:

Yes, way more clearance than stock.

Part Number?
NA-MMR is the single adjustable rear kit. I have double adjustable's on the rear of mine, but they are only available with the tuner kit, part # NA-MMKITDA.

I never tried QA1, so can't help there. I did install Penske shocks and front springs on mine, and have been happy with the results. While the stock Tokicos were good when new, they don't hold a candle to the new units.
Like any double-adjustable shock they required tuning. The handling is excellent without destroying ride quality. Penske quality, reliability and configurability are well known. The only down side is the price.
Five options, in order of price:
Penske
Naake
Monroe
OEM, made by ??

I had the double adjustable Naake front & rear. Today they would not be my choice. I would go with Penske.

They are 7500DA, but need to be custom assembled with mounts and valving to match the car. I had this done by ANZE suspension, see my thread on the subject (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=84895). They are rebuildable, so could be maintained for the life of the car.
Penske shocks are the "TCE/Wilwood brakes" of the limited shock selection available for our cars, and priced to match. The fronts are not just shocks, but 600 lbs/in "standard" coilovers with all the associated hardware, plus fabricated adapters to mount to the crossmember.

Sounds familiar. I've seen that and the shafts bending/binding. You should see the difference between a Bilstein and QA1 shafts. Its like comparing a tooth pick to a 100 year old tree stump.
I just finished a suspension build on an 02 GT. QA1 all around (front and rear coil overs). Replaced everything with Bilstein's and Maximum Motorsport coil overs and the owner hasn't been this happy since he bought the car. Yes I know its a Mustang but I'm sure there are several components of the QA1's that are used in other applications.
