Hey whats up everyone? I Owned a town car and crown vic for years and about 3 weeks ago i finally found a marauder for sale near buy at a dealership, then a few days ago the engine broke a piston rod and blew a piston ring....whack, the engine sounded like it was going to explode. Now i am in talks with the dealership to put the 5.4 in and pay the difference for the new engine, Hopefully everything works out.

Welcome to the site.

I don't think the 5.4l will fit at least the DOHC version. Most guys here who blow up their motor replace them with the 4.6l Terminator or Aluminator motors.

Im not really sure whats going on at this point, the dealership has not contacted me yet or returned my calls so im not even positive if i need a new engine yet or not but i am guessing that i will considering how horrible it sounded and was running, is there any certain trusted site that has the terminator or aluminator for sale?

they have had the car for 5 days and said an engine swap would be fine if i paid the extra money but now i havent heard from them since

I'm pretty sure the 5.4 is to tall,you would need a cowl hood.

As I understand it(and take it for what's that's worth lol) the heads on a DOHC 5.4l interfere with things next to the motor. I suppose if you are super handy things might be able to be moved but seems like more trouble than it's worth.. If you need a new motor buy yourself a long block 4.6l and it will fit right in.

I know it can be done and i have been set on the 5.4 for awhile but that was before i checked out MMR and I am looking at 2 of the 4.6L instead now and i will probably stick with one of them since the install will be much easier

A 2 valve 5.4 is a lame engine anyway.....lots of torque, but it won't rev nor make lots of HP.
A good running 4.6 DOHC is a better choice IMHO.

I just talked to the dealership and the engine is toast, they said the owner of the dealership will be contacting me later today and that they located a Marauder engine for sale so i guess i will wait and see what happens, most likely i will be paying the difference and swaping for the MMR Street Mod 4.6 L 2v Longblock

my original plan was just to have the 5.4 swap and leave it at that and not get too crazy with mods but of course that never happens and checking out all of your cars and the fact that i have already seen some of them on youtube in the past did not help much either.

As you most likely know but in case you didn't the Marauder is a 4v engine. The 2v is a CV motor
