Just wondering if I should do any preventive maintenance. I change oil every 7k which its only been changed twice since I bought it with 30k. I do notice if I leave it running when I pump gas it sometimes acts as if it wants to stall but never cuts off. Not sure what thats about. Maybe idle air control needs cleaning. Any advice offered wiil be considered and appreciated

Fuel filter for sure. Its cheap and easy. Even if you don't drive it much you should change the oil at least once a year. I only put about 3-4k a year on both my stangs and they get a yearly change.

Yearly oil changes +1

Fuel filter if its original is a good idea, materials will break down over time...

Great ideas. Changed trans fluid and filter at 37k. Id like to do the big filter mod for the fuel filter. Hadnt really thought about that in a while until now

My '93 hatch is due for an oil change. It has roughly 500 miles on the 347 that was put in over a year ago

Unless it has a power adder no point in modding the filter.

oil breaks down with time just as it does with mileage.

You can remove the throttle body and clean it on a bench as well as the IAC, using seafoam or carb cleaner.

Also seafoam the engine while at idle thru the brake booster line or PCV. PCV side is where all the oil gets sucked in, seafoam will help wash it away.

Clean the MAF with electric contact cleaner

Plugs are cheap enough to change now, if you wait for 100K they may not come out.

I like to also flush the brake fluid. Gets all the old fluid out and any water and corrosion that might be floating around in there. I do that every 4 years or every 50k miles or so, depending on use. I learned about that the hard way on a Crown Vic a while back...
