My brother forwarded this link to me: http://www.motortrend.com/features/consumer/1109_an_american_icon_ford_pan ther_platform/viewall.html
If its a repost, sorry. Thought it was an interesting article and the Marauder is mentioned.

"Fond memories of a 2003 Marauder" Was bench seats an option in 03?? And I never knew my old 81 Mark VI coupe was of the Panther class. That would explain the awesomeness in the ride dept. Almost better than my 79 Mark V...

Associate editor Scott Evans had some fond memories from his college days, sitting three across in the rear seat of a Mercury Marauder. "That's when I fell in love with Panthers," he said. "It was big, black, and mean. It sounded angry, it looked angry, and yet it had bench seats that carried all six of us with room to spare. Cruising down the streets in that car, unshaven, disheveled, and wearing sunglasses; it felt like a movie, where I was some tough sonofabitch on my way to a fight."

hmm, 6 passengers in a Marauder?

Very cool, it always cracks me up seeing that old lady that can barely see over the steering wheel driving the Marauder.
