I've always been curious. The Marauders boast Nudo leather, advertised on the window stickers and in the brochures, but is it different from the regular leather Mercury used in the Grand Marquis?

It is a soft, high durability leather, made by Eagle Ottawa Leather Company.

Nudo's used to roam the western plains through the 19th century, often near herds of the buffalo. The Nudo hides were sought as a source for making ladies undergarments at the time giving rise to the old expression"I'd like to skin that". Today, due to over hunting, much like the buffalo they are rare with few roaming wild herds and private ranching being the only source for the prized hides used in only the most prestigious of vehicles.

Is that why I get all excited when my body is pressed against the seat?

Oh alright, so it's a different, softer leather than what was used in the regular Fords.

Don't forget that the early settlers often traded gold, guns and whiskey for nudo thongs which they found much more desirable than their wool bloomers and 'brownie looseys'.
Some less than Christian settlers even tried to swing a deal for the young squaw who was wearing the nudo thong.....

'First Thanksgiving' painting by Walter Lipschitz, the Natives are seen wearing Nudo leather garments and moccasins. It is widely believed by scholars that the Natives used Nudo because of it's softness against the skin, it's durability and in humid climates it's breathability.

I took all the Nudo's out of my race car. No nudos allowed on the track. it leaves dampness in the lanes.

Copied:
What the heck is Nudo LeatherNudo leather is the same leather as used on the seats in the 2001 Harley Davidson*F150Special Edition, 2000 Navigator (on the Navigator the first and second seats are leather and the third is vinyl) and*2000*Lincoln. It is a much softer and higher grade leather. It will withstand more abuse and supposedly more comfortable. The seats in the 2000 Excursion are not of Nudo leather. The rear seat which is vinyl will also be a higher a quality, softer vinyl. From looking at the rear seat on the*F150*Special Edition, which is also vinyl......it is very hard to tell it is not leather. Besides my dogs who ride in the back won't know its not leather.
