Hey fellas, I finally bought a MM after test driving one back in 2004....
And I still have the same big smile on my face like I did back when I drove that new one. These are killer cars and a lot of fun....
It took me three months to find the one I wanted and I learned a lot of good information here in this forum that helped me in the quest....
I found a one owner 2004 Silver marauder garage queen with only 17K on the clock. The car still smells like new, is all stock and in mint condition....
I want to learn more about the these cars and plan on hanging around here picking up some tips from you guys along the way.....
Take care.......Dave

Welcome to the insanity! Your story sounds identical to mine. Drove one new in 2003 and due to the age of my babies etc at the time had to opt out and buy the Excursion instead....Still regret not buying one of each color in 03 and 04......

I thought I had a Blue Marauder bought three weeks earlier from a guy in Arizona but, I lost out on the deal by two hours trying to set up a shipping company to a another guy who bought it over the phone sight unseen.....:(
I was so pissed it took me three days to get over it......:D
That was an 03 Blue with 56K and real nice but, it wasn't meant to be....
Ended up finding a lower mileage garage queen in NM and calling the earlier loss a blessing in disguise.....:D

Hello fitness friend.
Now that you have found that perfect Marauder. Do yourself a big favor. Buy a tune from Mo's or Alternative and don't look back.
You think the car in all stock form is fun. Just buy the tune and its like the car was awakened from the dead.

Basically what the tune will do is overwrite certain factory parameters in the ECM. By doing so the car feels like while driving as if it lost 500 pounds. The car shifts quicker, shifts firmer and there is a little increase in power too. Almost drives like a sports car. A tune is easily the best $$$ bang for your buck. And it can easily be returned to stock form again if you wish.
For me, when I bought my Merc I thought the car was all fun. Then a friend of mine talked to me about a tune, installed a tune and HOLY S H I T ! What a difference! The tune truly awakened the car. Car became a little faster, shifts became firmer and faster and my smiles per miles increased dramatically.
But I wanted more now.
So I had installed 4.10 gears along with a tune.
And whoooooooooooooaaaaaa nelly!! :burnout:
4.10's + tune = WINNING!!!
I drove my car with a tune, underdrive pulley and a tune for almost two years and I loved every mile of it.
Since then I've done A LOT more since my very first tune.
I highly recommend a tune. Contact Marty at Mo's Speed Shop in the vendor forum. He is a vendor/supporter here. And knows a lot about our cars. He will treat you right.

First of all, congratulations on finding what many lucky few consider the most awesome color for a Marauder! I bought my '04 Silver Birch (ordered from the dealer) after trading in a CV which couldn't get out of it's own way. I actually was leery of getting another Panther at all because I was so underwhelmed by every thing about the CV. Long story short, I took a chance on the Marauder and it was night and day. But it wasn't until I got a tune (from Zack in my case) that I truly fell in love with my car. Like Joe said, get a tune and don't wait another minute!

Alright......
This is just going to be a car to cruise around in and I want to keep the rear end gears the same. What kind of tune did you get....?
