View Full Version : Marauder sputters at 4500 RPMs

Just noticed this today. In park and neutral, if I step on the gas to about 4500rpms, the car starts sputtering and shaking! It doesn't seem to happen when driving.

Turn the speakers up and enjoy the video.

Anyone else have this problem? Ideas?

Its a neutral/park rev limiter. Its supposed to do that.

You are bouncing the car off the limiter.

Why are you doing this?

I was using the Seafoam spray. According to their video, it says to accelerate a little bit while spraying (1000-1500 rpm). I pushes the pedal too much by accident one time and noticed the sputter. Did not realize it was normal. Scared me a bit.

Got ya.

The rev limiter is based on the car being in gear/not in gear so you were bouncing off of it in neutral.

Why are you doing this?It's a ricer thing. They do it so they can pretend they have more than 92 horsepower under the hood and that ignorant people are impressed/scared of them.
