Mapquest is showing @ 5.5 hrs to Chicago...

I'm thining the car will have to be left for several days because it is an intermitten problem. Unfortunately the funds for an extended stay is not in the budget, so it might be a drop n come back kinda thing...although I'm wide open to suggestions at this point of exhaustion...

When diagnosing problems such as this its best to be prepared to leave it, have patience, and not panic call every hr LOL I know you are new here, but rest assured you are in the best of hands no matter who helps you, and can trust damn near anyone willing to help. i have been flung the keys to strangers cars for weeks on end just like many others here. Plenty of trust...

We all have daily lives such as yourself and this could be a 1 hr fix right on up to days/weeks. Gremlins suck. Just be very happy that it seems to be staying broke... That's half the battle.

Worring about my car with someone is NOT a worry for me for sure. The only worry I have is what is the problem and the cost. The normal worries I think. That's why Id rather have it with one of you guys, being hugely more familiar with these cars than even the Ford Dealerships in my opinion. If I drop it off and it takes a month then so be it. And as for calling, once a week is usually what I do when its the rare occasion when my car is left at a shop for an extended stay. As for staying broken, ohh yeah. Had a car that acted up and did the same thing about every six months, talk about a pain...

OK, this problem is back also. The only new thing I can bring is it's now doing it on good dry weather. Today I went out to show someone something under the hood and opened the door, popped the hood and it started cycling. I did notice theat the group of relays together, the horn, fuel pump and PCM, were warm. I pulled the fuel pump and PCM and they were the warmest. Also thinking that maybe a relay was bad or going and not blown I switched the horn and fule pupm relay. No fix. I even pulled the PCM Diode relay and no effect. Going to try and lift up the whole box to see if there is any corrosion under it. Other than that I have nothing. As again, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Underneath the fuse/relay box is a good place to look, there is a lot of wiring back there that is pretty much open to the elements. It would be hard to get water up in there but anything is possible.
Mine was a mess from an early Trilogy install and I was in there after an intercooler pump failure cost me a motor. It also caused intermittent air ride issues.

It's not too tough to get into and you may well find your issues there. Someone sent me a PDF of the fuse box wiring and I was able to troubleshoot my stuff from that.
Nice thing is like Bob said, if it is still there it can be found. It's the ones that go away for months on end that are tough to find.

THat's what this has done. Been gon for about three months give or take...now everything is back. I did notice that water does pool on the plastic cover at the front of the engine, ans alittle on the negative side of the battery...
