View Full Version : Odd back glass damage

I put three pictures in the gallery of my back glass.
I first noticed that "bubble" 6 months ago and there was only one.
It seems to get worse, so I took it to the Dealer to replace it under warranty. They guaranteed me OEM replacement and a professional installer. According to the service writer I won't be able to tell, that it is not the factory installed glass.

Anyone else noticed something like this on their MM?
It started underneath the gasket and spread upward and in both directions.
No spider developing.

Maybe you better check.

Who's willing to bet that the dealer will order the correct back glass with build antenna, defrost and factory tint? I have a feeling, they are going to get a GM back glass first. I guess we will see.

In a previous thread about logged complaints from MM owners, one owner had the back window explode! Better safe than sorry on the replacement!!

Looks like the laminate has separated slightly, causing air to get in. Definitely a defect that is a warrantee item.

That is definitely a defective rear window. I think the GM has the same rear window. The factory glass has the FMC logo on it.

Not the same problem, but my front window has a hairline in it. At first I thought it was a spiderweb laid across because it's so thin. But then after it wouldn't come off inside or out, and I looked real close...I discovered it's true depth.

At least it's under warrenty, mine died 2 or 3 years ago:D
