On my Mark V occasionally when I go to start it it will kick out. Meaning as soon as I turn the key it's like you unhooked the battery. Before I start it when this happens she has power to dome lights clock door locks etc...Usually I can just shake the battery and get it to start. But sometimes several shakings will have to happen before she's able to start. I has fogotten she does this till today when I went to start and move her. Haven't had her to a mech, just thought I would throw it out for you guys help. I'm thinking maybe a syliniod is kicking out...any help would be appreciated...thanks

How old is the battery?
Might be loose plate(s) inside the battery.
Loose cable(s).
Bad connection(s).

Based on your statement above, I would be looking at the battery and it's terminal conections for starters (pun intended!).

^^^what they said^^^
Battery, terminals, or cables.
Things like dashboard lights and dome lights and such take very little power and with a high-resistance connection will still work. As soon as you hit the bad connection with a large current draw from the starter, it opens.

Battery is good (and it's done this with other batteries too), it has the Marauder battery in it which checked out as good. And the terminals are old but the are heavy duty ones. I don't see any currosion on them or the geen meanies as they are clear terminals. The car has been sheltered and or covered when parked outside. When it first happened I cranked them down so tight they were screaming. It's nice outside today, if it lasts tomorrow I will jack the beast up and check for the cable connections under the car.

Check the insulation/condition of the cable to the starter - especially where it touches or comes close to the frame/engine/mounts/etc.

Cool, I'll check that tomorrow while she's in the air.

It seems the problem is the ground cable. And I ha dmore time to look and wow, I missed it(or just didn't want to see it) but the green meanies anve invaded the cables. :depress:I love those cables.:shake: They're double the width of normal ones and a clear casing. Oh well, replacement is in my future.

You can get the correct ones if you have a good NAPA store nearby. They can make them for you as well. We do that all of the time on our drag cars.
