Took the car out for a spin for the first time in a while last weekend, and I've got a sticky caliper on the left rear. The right rear has stuck in the past, but much lighter than this one is. I'm thinking of just rebuilding and cleaning up the calipers myself, but I've not done that on these cars.

Does the MM have the new type of caliper piston that must be screwed back in rather than just pushed in? Just curious if any of you guys have done the rebuild yourself.

The rebuild kit is less than $10, while the rebuilt caliper is more than $50.

Since the parking brake is the shoe type, there is no screw for the piston.

Pretty easy to clean up the callipers. Try driving the car in reverse for a bit first. Sometimes crap just gets lodged in the pad.
