What is the easiest way to remove the lower pulley bolt, by myself, on an automatic car. I've always had a manual tranny when doing it while the engine was in the car or the engine was out of the car. I do know it's a reverse thread. I'm having a hell of a time. :(

Not reversed thread.
Remove the access cover in the block drivers side rear to gain access to the torque converter bolt to hold back on. Or simply just use an impact.

Not reverse threaded?
Now I do feel like an idiot.

Don't. Simple mistake as many cars are.

Thank You. I'm hoping to have this thing on the road by next weekend.

If you have a long enough breaker bar, you can put the socket on the bolt, rest the end on the driver's side frame, pull the fuel pump fuse, try starting the car for just a sec. It'll break that bolt loose real quick! :D

That is an excellent idea, but I've been redoing all the wiring, which I absolutely hate with a passion, and don't know if that would even work.

I won't recommend anything I haven't tried. ;)

Impact didn't do it. This sucks having no one around to help.

I'll see if I have one long enough. Thanks.

Won't work. Alternator is off the car. I hate electrical stuff. If there's a way to close the circuit, so I can crank the engine, I would have no idea.

Do you have a couple long bolts to fit into two of the three damper holes? Use a pry bar to leverage it in place and a breaker bar to work the bolt loose.

Sweet idea. I'll try it right now. Thank You.

I'll make another attempt tomorrow with that idea. I've already bent 2 bolts and it's time to walk away from that part of the project for the night.
