Just started using it. The guys at white racing in swear by it and have me convinced. They also praise the joe Gibbs driven racing oil.
Claiming the zddp additive is the key.

I have no reason to argue with guys who build race engines for a living. They also say it is not necessary for a stock motors lower valve spring pressure but it won't hurt either.

Certainly opinions are just that.

Good luck with your search:beer:

How much is it per quart compared to Motorcraft, Mobil 1, or Royal Purple, and what advantage do you expect to get from it vs. the other oils on the market?

Depends on where you buy it if coarse. If I remember correctly white racing charged me about $7.00 a quart but that was with them doing the oil change. Not sure if they do retail sales, I doubt if they do.

I have to say two thumbs up for curless recommending these guys. A great father and son shop. Who love talking and explaining cars. Plus there only a mile away from work :D

Oops almost forgot one of your ?'s. Chris white said he can tear down a motor and by looking at the parts tell you which had the brad penn and which had the royal by looking at the worn parts.

Again opinions are that but I trust these guys and i don't say that about too many people.

They also praise the joe Gibbs driven racing oil. Claiming the zddp additive is the key. The ZDDP issue will be debated for as long as there is still oil in the ground. The general consensus is that it isn't as important as once thought as the lower levels in street oils have been compensated for by other additives.
I have no reason to argue with guys who build race engines for a living. They also say it is not necessary for a stock motors lower valve spring pressure but it won't hurt either. They are correct, but remember, it's not necessarily a good assumption that just because something works well in a race environment that it HAS to be even better on the street.

*EDIT* To the OP's question, Brad Penn oil is highly regarded on BITOG, but I don't know anyone personally who uses it.

Thanks for all the info. Reason I was asking is because I just put a reman motor in my MM. I wanted to use a good oil and a friend of mine told me about Brad Penn. He is currently using it his built 400 and highly reccomends it.

I always have an urge to try stuff like this, but I have a hard time justifying it in a street car when I can get Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum for $25 a jug at Walmart.

Now my head hurts.

This guy did some testing and says this is number 1

5W30 Pennzoil Ultra, API SM = 115,612 psi

Caution: this is a loooong read

OEM oil will work fine in your motor, no need to sweat the small stuff on a NA rebuilt engine. Brad-Penn is no doubt a great oil but you're not going to see any huge +/- benefit from using it vs. some other oil, especially in a basic street application.

Just like religion ... Pick one, abide by a regiment, and you'll be "saved".

Am a conventional oil user and have been since before having a license. Over the years I've had NUMEROUS vehicles with over 300,000 miles on their engines that NEVER needed a tear-down nor had a failure and ran for 100,000+ miles after I sold them.

My religion (er, brand) of choice is Pennzoil.

I mean ... Heck if it's good enough for Arnold Palmer's Ford 8N tractor(s) .....

Do you mean "Green" in the sense of good for the environment?
Or "Green" in the sense of Kermit The Frog?

The oil itself is green, like Kermit the frog. Lol
