I purchased my 03 300b sb from NSLATIN( thank you Neal I have to say I am in love with her). I unfortunately have to say though, I have been doing some, lets call it spirited driving and I am afraid that I have damaged the transmission. I don't think there's any major damage, just clutches. I did drop the pan and found some decent chunks on the magnet.

I have been looking around in the salvage yards for a good core that I can tare apart and rebuild, and there's where the issues begin. Are there any differences between years when it comes to the 4r70w's. I definitely don't want to go and get a trans, go through the work of building it and find out that one minor difference and the unit wont work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I'm not planning on a "factory rebuild" the way I like to play I'm all in on this one. Does any one have any experience with Monster Transmissions- MONSTER IN A BOX?

There are a LOT of differences even in same year, different vehicle. Best bet is to let a good shop build you one.

Racer X, thank you for the link, i was able to get more information from that doc than i have been able to find anywhere else. :bows:

The biggest issue that i have is this is a daily driver. I have been looking for a donor case that i can rebuild and then put it in. Correct me if i am wrong but from what i can find i should be able to use any of the 03-04 crown vics or the grand marquis.

The next issue is my son turns 16 in a year and a half. We have a 79 Camaro that we have been working on for a while now and after taking MY baby out for a "spirited ride" the camaro is out and the Marauder is in, I am a proud PAPA,:bigcry: Chances are i will probably be loosing my car here is a couple of years. now you know why i want to build a rock.
