Getting everything together to do the 4.10 swap.
(This has been beaten to death - I will now beat it beyond death, to where it returns from the grave and wanders the Earth as an undead Zombie, consuming other threads.)
I want to get as much done as possible while it's apart, and over-build it to leave myself some headroom for a supercharger up the road. I'm getting it done at a shop, so labor's a consideration.
If the price were closer I'd go with the 31 spline LSD (which would be brand new, and comes with the carbon fiber clutches and saves a bit on labor), instead of keeping the 28's (+ the cost of the carbon fiber clutches, and the labor for the rebuild), BUT the cost of replacing the axles puts it past what I'm willing to spend. (And I'm not sure I'll really need them, either.)
From Sparta :
Ford Racing 8.8" Gear Sets, 4.10
M-4210-C3 - Install Kit
M-4700-C - Carbon Fiber Clutch kit
28 Spline S-Spring
https://id144237.webhosting.optonline. net/spartaperformance.com/merchantmanager/product_info.php?cPath=32_62&products_id=360
Also want to get :
Solid Spacer Kit - http://www.jegs.com/i/Richmond+Gear/836/04-0011-S/10002/-1?CAWELAID=1710930624&catargetid=1784155608&cadevice=c&&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CKC2hKzDrbcCFQqi4AodVQ8A TA
Bearing Stud Kit - http://www.lethalperformance.com/ford-racing-96-04-mustang-8-8-ford-bearing-cap-stud-kit.html
I probably don't strictly need these last two, but I figure I might as well because they don't push up the price that much.
Also maybe :
Rear Axle Girdle - https://id144237.webhosting.optonline. net/spartaperformance.com/merchantmanager/product_info.php?manufacturers _id=1&products_id=231
But I can do that myself later, so it can wait if need be.
I also have to figure in a new tune, probably from Mo.
Does this all check out ? Opinions ?
