Depends on how loud you want it. If you want Super Loud go with Aero Turbine At2525's. Deep mumble then Flowmaster 44's or Magnaflows.

^^^^^ What he said.

Expect drone around 1,500 rpm.

Can't you do the headers
Weld on v clamps like these:
http://www.google.com/search?q=v+clamps+exhaust&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=J2qiUYbiH5PE4AOdpIDgCA&ved=0CEMQsAQ&biw=320&bih=416

Then swap the stock system on for the test and back to the aftermarket after?
Without knowing how things work down there I have no idea if this would work.

Yeah I can now hard would it be to switch them back? I thought about doing that but don't know how much work is involved.

Shouldn't be too hard if you make the mounts easy on/off
I'm not an exhaust guy but it should be fairly easy (and worth it)

Are there any options for those who don't want to increase the sound level, yet still flow well? Sometimes the "turbo" style mufflers do pretty well both at quiet and flow.

I had Aeros on mine with the rear cat delete. Got pulled over a couple times so I put the rear cats back on. Still sounds good with the Aeros and all the cats.

Yeah, I'm really not into increasing the exhaust noise. Those Aeros look like a straight-thru muffler, typically not what you want when trying to keep sound levels reasonable.

The stock exhaust flows pretty good from Mercury. The choke point is the mid-pipe. I believe it changes size. Fix that and you will have a good flowing exhaust w/o the noise. :)

I have the full length SW system, and my '04 Marauder sounds just like my friends SVT Cobra. Of course, my wife Joanne insists that we are at the extreme limit for sound.

She does not like riding for a long period in the 750 HP '93 Mustang with a similar exhaust set-up as the Marauder. I must ride solo to National Mustang Shows as they are usually 5-9 hour drives. My bride of 44 years rides with friends who have quiet rides, or she drives the Marauder to these events.

I also have the stainless works system, with the s tube mufflers and No cats. Quiet at idle, and when cruising. It does not drone at all, but it makes my friends ears ring when I pull past them at wot

So I need to get rid of the h-pipe?

lilmarauder
05-27-2013, 09:05 AM
Yes if you want to keep it simple. The h pipe from the rear set of cats to the mufflers is the most restrictive part. Certain parts are only a 1 7/8" on that h pipe.

Cut off the rear cats and run bigger pipe into your choice of mufflers, and re use your tail pipes. If you don't use a x or h pipe your car will sound like a old pickup truck.

No just change size to 2.5" instead of the stock size. has to be custom made by your muffler shop.

lilmarauder
05-27-2013, 09:33 AM
When I say bigger pipe, you can have a bigger one made, like 1stmerc said, or you can have a x pipe fabricated.

I changed out my stock mufflers for Flow Master Super 44's and also installed vibration dampers at the flanges just before the H-pipe and I have zero drone issues......

So would you recommend I have a 2" x-pipe installed??
