Urgent, how do I re-attach rear view mirror? It seems that there is no screw holding the mounting tab in place. So, how do I get the mounting tab released from the mirror so I can re-attach the mounting tab and attach the mirror that fell off today?

I have the kit with the glue and cleaner. I am talking about how to get the little mounting tab out from the actual mirror!

Well, I managed to install mirror with metal tab still stuck inside back of mirror. It was a bummer holding the mirror up there for so long, but it seems like it is holding.
I still would like to know how to get that metal tab out of the back of the mirror so when it falls off again, I will know what to do.
Thanks...

Allen key and set screw at base of mirror mount unless Ford re-invented things.

Ford DID re-invented things
Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver into the slot at the base of the interior rearview mirror. Hold the mirror and pull the screwdriver downward and rearward until the mirror snaps away from the bracket.

Thanks. I am not going to mess with it now that it is stuck on the window (for now). But, I sure did try prying etc with screwdriver and pliers to get that daggone metal tab out while it was in my hand and with NO luck. Maybe when I stop at the junkyard next, I will try to get one off there for practice. ;)

That's why I've been a loyal Ford owner for the last 37 years. Take a good simple design - and make it worse!
