I want to have the rear cooling mod done in the near future and have noticed there are several different options to choose from. Just curious what kit you guys went with and what needs to be done to install said kit.

Also, my windshield looks like it went through a meteor shower; lots of pitting and a handful of 'stars' on it. Is there another option to having it replaced at the dealership? I've actually been sort of hoping a rock or something would hit it and cause it to crack so I can file a claim to have it replaced...that's how much it bugs me.

TIA...

I went with the original from Even Flow. Upper and lower intake have to be remove to install.

For the windshield sit the car in the sun for a while. Then spray some cold water on it. That will crack it in short order.

I heard you get 7 miles of crappy driving if you break a windshield on purpose.

Discovered it quite by accident on my old truck years ago. Got a rock chip in lower passenger side in November. Washed all winter and didn't move. Soon as spring weather hit washed as always, with exception of it facing sun most of the day. Soon as the water from the hose hit the glas watched and heard that chip creep all the way over to the drivers side in a matter of seconds.

Since it was accidental, didn't suffer any bad driving karma :D

I'm leaning towards his kit, but just wanted to see if there was anything deemed better and/or get opinions on musclemerc's kit...

I ordered muscle mercs kit. He said to Alow 10-15 business days for him to. Build it and offered to send my money back if that wasn't ok. I told him to go ahead and build it. Last friday was 15 business days and i hadn't heard anything. I enailed him yesterday and he said it would ship out thus morning first thing. So if you don't mind a 4 week wait to get it id say go for it

I have DR's engine cooling mod. If you come across one I highly recommend re-routing the engine harness away from it.

As for the windshield, if you have full coverage insurance plus depending on your state, it can be covered with no deductible.

^What he said. If the windshield is pitted that bad, your insurance may cover it.

If you can, go with Carlite. I had PPG. Half of the outer sealing strip came loose on the highway and started flapping around on the roof. Plus the mirror came off with the attachment piece. It had a nice chunk of glass stuck to it.
