Sooooo a pos scion rear ended my car at the light. Just rolled into it. I'm still trying to realize it really happened and stay calm but the more I'm thinking about it the more I'm getting pissed. The guy wanted to deal in cash but didn't have any on him so I got pictures, the plate number, picture of insurance card, his number and name and my buddy who was driving it as a witness. I didn't really want anyone else involved either because open headers etc (we were taking it to my buddy's exhaust shop). I told him $75 because I was thinking of DrColorChip which I hear you guys talk about from time to time and it fills the rock chips. So will it fill the outlines of bolt heads he imprinted on the rear bumper? Or will it not fill it that much? If it wont fill that much any other ideas?

Works fine for chips and road rash. No idea on filling imprint from bolt heads. Pics? $75.00 seems pretty cheap.

No, This product will not fill tag bolt marks. You need many coats to fill small chips. You need to wait until product has fully cured about an hour between coats. See if a local Bodyshop will do a spot blend for around a buck and half or two hundred dollars.

Its not very deep seeming. Just like fingernail deep. I was planning on doing the layering method. I've done bodywork a nice amount of times and know it can cost an arm and a leg. And the fact the car is a metallic makes it more of a pain painting because the metallic in the paint gets suspended in the paint at different heights/angles if not painted all together. That's why the MM spoiler looks like a different shade of the silver when you look at it at the wrong angle but at other angles it blends in perfectly with the rest of the paint. I got damn lucky when I painted my tail lights and reverse lights that the metallic matches the rest of it. So that was in the back of my mind the whole time and figured seeing as I was going to use the DrColorChip stuff around the rest of my car for the rock chips he'd be paying for it for me with the $75.

If he doesn't drop the money off to me within a reasonable amount of time I will file a claim and pocket the money besides the costs of the DrColorChip stuff and use it for more car parts. Because like I said I don't want the back bumper to look off because the whole thing was repainted. Because I'd insist on repainting the whole rear bumper if I went that far. It may take quite a while filling with the DrColorChip doing layer after layer but then it'll hopefully blend in flawlessly. I would use a little glaze if it was deeper but like I said its not super deep and its just an outline

^^^That's the only damage. The guy was stopped behind my car then didn't hold his brake down all the way because he wasn't paying attention and slowly rolled into my car. The one on the left is the worst one but its still not deep.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to be staring it down when my buddies down with my car inspecting it even more

Did he pay you? If not you only have 10 days to report it for a police report

I tried the DR stuff on my DTR and was not too impressed. I had better luck with a touch up paint.

I don't know... ask Mrs. Colorchip!

She divorced Dr. Colorchip sometime last year. Now living in Miami with her former pool boy Ramone.
