Anyone know of a good way to clean the underhood insulator.

I tried, I failed.
Thinking I just might dust it with flat black:dunno:

take it off and throw it out? I've found the metal much easier to clean :-D

I carefully cleaned ours with a damp rag. If it's really dirty buy a new one from Ford. As I recall it's under a 100 bucks.

A light coating of flat black paint wll perk it up.

Or get one of the ones carmotorsports has. They are a bit pricey though...

No # but it's the same one as for the CV and GM so they are readily available at your local Ford dealer. Don't remember if it comes with new pushinski's though.

Armor All tire foam. Spray it on, spread lightly with a wheel brush, let dry.

Me too. Maybe once I get a repaint (which I hope happens soon)...

Haven't had one in a number of years, but flat black always looked PERFECT!

Just a note: I have the CM one and tried to clean it with an interior car carpet cleaner spray (spray on, brush in, let dry, vacuum off). It did a great job, but it also undid the glue mounting it to the stock insulator, so I had to unship and reglue portions of it.

Turned out fine, but now I just brush and clean with a damp cloth...
