I can't believe how your car seems to be fighting you tooth and nail man.

You NEED a DTR and just cruise man.

Do you think Suburban Driveshaft or where ever you had it made will stand behind it, warranty, and offer you a stronger DS at just an additional cost on top of what you already paid?

DTR + 4.10's + Eaton swap = Wreeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom

Yes for the last four years. No for tonight... It was actually pretty gentle luckily resting on the X pipe. This could have been ugly.

You need to find out what AMG uses for their DS.

After the awesome display of awesomeness from all the AMG's Sunday. You can't go wrong getting one like theirs.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who shedds driveshafts. Once on the GMC due to rust (of course) and once on a '74 Buick I had, I exploded the front yoke. The GM mechanic said he's seen lots of rear yokes break but never in over 20 years a front. I told him I was special. :D

Looks like Carbon Fiber in your future. Get in touch w/ Joe Walsh I think he has one.

Honestly I can't answer that Rex. I have been working mad hours and it seems most of it is an hour drive. IE I don't even have a way to take it in between their hours of 8-5 when I am gone 5:30 till ??? 5,7,10 at night. Just to hear them push it off onto me anywho. Good to 1200 HP MY ASS. They weren't what I would call very eager to help me over the phone.

Add to the fact I'm tired and not really feelin it (the car) :) anyways.

So we shall see. Maybe, maybe auto, maybe minivan? I'm just as handsome no matter the car. Hmm Handsome Bob, that kinda has a ring to it.

Its after 10 now on part 2 of get the car home and in 20 minutes I'll finally be home and life back on track. Last night we didn't get home till around 1, Mel's work night (what a truper) and kids school.

Ouch!!

Sorry to see more carnage Bob.

Physics is simple yet cruel:
4,400 LB sedan + High HP, high RPM engine + manual transmission w/tight clutch + good traction = everything in between goes BANG!

I found this out with my '85 5.0 GT as I added more HP and sticky drag radials to the Mustang....blew up the T5 trans*, wasted the clutch, broke the U joints, and had to replace the 7.5" rear!....:o

*First run at the track with the drag radials...snagged 2nd gear....immediately hear a loud BANG...no more forward motion!
Lost all forward gears except 5th then drove it all the way home in 5th gear with pieces of schrapnel rattling around in the gearbox....

Picking up the new shaft now. Lonnnnggg story.

Cliff notes:

Midwest Driveshaft in St. Charles IL. are in business to make money with zero customer care.

They've never had failures

They talk over you every second, are down right rude, and possess no care about what has happened.

You will get a discount

We didn't charge enough first time (after two quotes over a couple months time being the same...)

Spicer doesn't make drag racing parts

I gotta get off the phone, I'm very busy and generally don't diagnose why stuff fails. < WOW

I ended just bending over and getting the same shaft as I had to get the car moveable. You have NO idea how hard that was! I will just save and get a better one built by somebody with a reputation. Also this will enable me to have a back up one when that time comes.

****ing pissed at this tool and just want this to be over.

justbob

Since this trans is the same in the CTSV, and the shaft is pretty darn close in design, I will probably get some info from them guys on who to use considering any decent Caddy track car is running mid 10's. Mine should only be high 11's best I could figure from piecing together the time slip and the second run.

the ctsv is a independent rear so the shaft really doesn't move

I did that already. Because of rotational direction I had to mount it upside down. Didn't go over so well with the oil however...:P
