Transmission Temp

Just wondering how high is to high when it comes to the trans temp. I've seen my go up to 196. Tranny is stock and the only mods are a JLT intake and a tune. I drive with overdrive off in town unless I go over 50mph. TIA

^That's a good example to go by. I think the highest mine has ever seen was 177-180 range.

When was the last time you had your fluid changed or filter changed in the trans?

I got the car in January and don't know when it was last changed. That's something that has been on my mind. That's probably going to be my next project. I'm even thinking about ordering the bigger pan to.

I've seen my go up to 196. I drive with overdrive off in town unless I go over 50mph. TIAThat's why your temps are high. When the TC locks up, there's no fluid "slippage" so there's no heat generated. When you constantly drive around with no lockup, you'll get more heat.
