Father's Day...

My dad was (is) a Cutless Osmobile man... Had an automatic 70 S that would 65-70 in first gear.... Had a Delta Royale two door, with 455 Rocket engine he called Bambi.... In the summer, I would race the (young and dumb) corvette owners from the Cruz, out on the freeway. 60 to 100 I could eat the up with a friend and two dates in the car.

Once a kid refused to pay (wanted to fight instead) and accused me of having Nitrous or something under the hood/trunk... I opened the big vast trunk first... Could hide a small plane in there--everyone on the strip was quiet... Then opened the runway sized hood... And everyone on the strip laughed--- a great beast of a 455.... With the 2ft sized air filter cover riding high, like a proud toilet bowl... All completely covered in Oklahoma red clay dust... No fingerprints in years...

The older smarter corvette owner on the strip... Who was holding the money, said to the kid, "I warned you not to race him one the freeway, that motors is a beast!" And handed me the $.

Ah... Those were they days. I've had my eye out for an Olds/Cutless for about a decade. I can't afford the ones that catch my eye. I am looking for an old man that has on...
