I know for most of you it's time for tire rotation.
I talked to a Mecury tech and they said it was best to rotate the tires side to side. He told me that rotating the tires front to back will cause the engine light to go on, mess up the speed odometer, and cause the abs brakes to fail.
My feelings behind this is just wait for the tires to wear out and get all the same new tires so that I can rotate them front to back.
I really doubt the speedometer will get affected that much.
what do you guys think???
what will you guys do when they wear out???

the tiresa are unique for the front and rear. The only way to rotate is side to side

You buy new ones.I dont think flopping the tires from one side to the other is good for them? You in effect would be reversing thier rotation?I know this is true with the aqua-thread tires a friend of mine has.Until I saw the arrows for the proper rotation I would'nt have thought about the differance to the tires?

I think our BFGs are bi-directional. They should be able to be rotated side-to-side.
Probably not ideal, but better than nothing. :)

Funny you should mention it !!!
Went to my dealer in Concord, Calif. last Fri. and the service rep. at first said that we should rotate ft. to bk. and I explained about the different sizes and he went to check and came back to tell me that I should wait and buy 4 new tires when they showed wear. I reminded him about the side to side idea and showed him the car manual that came with the car and he showed it to someone else and cameback to say that the book did not show any rotation so I should buy new ones. Again I turned the pg. and showed him the arrows going side to side, then he sent it in to be rotated. The mechanic only did the front ones because he said it was not a good idea idea to do the back. I also showed him the book and he fimally agreed to change the back ones also, side to side. He said he really did not want to but would do so. If I had not watched him I would never had known.
MAKE REAL SURE YOUR DEALER KNOWS HOW TO WORK WITH MARAUDERS.
Mine also was unaware about us using only Motorcraft Syn. blend oil 5-20 per. the manual and had to order it, If I had not told them they would have put something else in.
I think Ford forgot to do some training.
BFG's like ours can roll either direction per our auto manual.
