burnt vaccum line?? green cap next to air charge cap???

what is the purpose of this line that i burnt please??

its the line that has the green cap that says "hand tighen only" on it i burnt the wire that lead to the little plastic peice that is on the firewall and lead to the intake?? has a little white label on it that i cannot read

ok so i see blackened300a had same problem before

its the passenger side EGR tube and runs under the intake..is MELTED completely in half and just noticed it...

was in half and the tubes on each side were melted shut so wasent making barely any noise and wasent having that much motor issues WEIRDD because when i cut each melted side and started it up was making ALOTTT of noise OBVIOUSLY, so i just did a temp fix and electrical taped it back together REALLY good and now all better for now
