I looked up how to swap rear shocks and found a video on a 04 GM. It looks really easy with only two bolts.

I know we have air ride, but the rear shocks can be swapped as easily as a GM I take it?

Correct.

What are you considering for replacement shocks, Dom?

In '03, Ford moved the rear shocks to a position outboard of the frame, which makes them simple to change. Prior to that, they sucked. A lot. I still have to do them on my DD and I just keep putting it off...

Awesome. No idea on a brand.

Seems like a lotta different opinions on here in other threads.

Mine are stock width.

I am not going to do this for a while. :(

Just doing a little research first.

My :twocents:: Monroe Severe Service. Firm, but not harsh ride, pleased with the set in my car. 03mmmonroe's running 'em, too.

You will need an extra set of hands; 03mmmonroe installed mine and needed me to hold/move things during installation.

I ran them and comparing to stock, they bounced the rear around on bumps and one started leaking after a year. Replaced with OEM Motorcraft and no problems. IF you do go with OEM confirm your build date as there is different hardware that comes with early build 03/04's and mid-late 04's.

Just remember to turn the air suspension off as step one, the rest is pretty straight forward.

I had the KYB installed and the are almost perfect. Firm enough, no upward bounce at all...
