Went to "No Problem Raceway" tonite for the Test N' Tune.
It was on the warm side with the high temp of 72*F@62% to a low of 66*F@74%. Several reported running .3 to .4 faster last week when it was in the upper 50'sF*.
Ran runs back to back 14.101 / 13.985 / 13.913 / 14.060 / 14.182 / 14.151 / 14.144 / 13.974 / 13.970 / 14.005. RT time ranged from .119 to .327.
There were over 75 cars and bikes. 15 bikes / 15 1/4 mile only w/ slicks vehicles / 45 street vehicles.
To my amazement I ran consistantly better times than the following vehicles;
Z28 Camaro
Z28 Camaro
C4 Corvette ( ran poorly)
Mustang GT moded
Mustang GT moded
Mustang GT moded
Mustang GT moded
BMW M3
Harley Davidson Ford P/U
Honda S2000
Nissan 240SX.
The only vehicle I lost to was a Mustang GT that ran NOS @12.885.
The MM was in the top 10 fastest N/A street cars.
There were 200 in the grandstand and many were cheering for the MM when she went againest the coupes. There was a lot of interest in the MM, 8 different people came over to ask me about her.
The track crew told me "keep running 13's and you need to go to the Tower and borrow a helmet", which I did. Unfortunately it was too small so it hurt to take it off and put it on. So I just left it on looking like a big dufus and people still came by to ask me about the MM.
Yahooooo
ps It was my third time to the track in the MM and my first after the latest mods. I am still learning the best launch technique.

It's nice when you get these big heavy cars into the 13's. Good work. Did you mess around at all w/the tire pressures front and back? If so, what psi did you have them at?

The track crew told me you need to wear a helmet, which I did. So I looked like a big dufus.
Now you know how Todd felt as a kid....

Way to go! Pretty nice when some big land yatch starts trailering the sport coupes. Best part, to me anyway was the crowd support for you. And don't worry about the dufus look, it fits in with the whol;e sleeper image.

Congratulations Sailsmen, it's good to see our cars are going to the strip and doing very well against lighter opponents.
With a little practice you will lower that ET to mid 13's and that makes your car....one very fast land barge !!!

Billy, I went w/ your advice 40psi front and 23psi rears.
After I beat the Harley Ford I met up with him in the staging lanes he was letting more air out and he told me I should run 17psi in the rears! I made sure I was not lined up next to him after hearing that.
There were several ricers. One in an S2000 who spoke with an asian accent was complaining about bogging down due to the gorilla grip of the track. I suggested he skip the burn out to keep from over heating his clutch, but he did not take my advice, said he knew how to run, well I blew his doors off!
I went in the grandstands and was amazed at the number of moded cars that could not break thru 14.0! It made me feel really good about the MM times. :D
Unfortunatley on the way home I hit a pot hole and got an egg in the front tire. It was right in front of the biggest land drilling rig I have ever seen. On the way down I was admiring it for it's size and squeaky clean looks.
The road is a substandard state highway in very poor condition. I am sure the heavy equipment from the drilling rig tore up the road even more.
The track is in the middle of a sugar cane field behind an oil refinery. It is a first class facility with an NHRA approved 1/4 drag and a 1.8 mile road course, showers, concessions, 5,000 seat grand stand, bar, 16 covered bays. 2002 & 2003 Division 4 track of the year. A retired CPA built it using friends on the weekends. Everyone said he was crazy. They are packed every weekend and on the Coor's Lite Road Circuit.

Good runs... nice and conistant. After reading your mods, I would expect to see at least 13.60's. With a bit more launch-practice you should have that car movin'.

I think with the right weather I should get to 13.60.
All the ones I spoke to said they ran .3 to .4 less the week before when it was in the upper 50's*F.

yep, my car runs .3 sec quicker in the cold weather, and I ran the 13.5's in the cold weather. My car is about one full second slower than the majority of the S/Ced Marauders are.

I'm getting tired of having to congratulate a whole bunch of people for running quicker and quicker each week. Now I see another MM in the high 13s with pretty much bolt-ons. And everyone says he's capable of mid 13s with better air. So then the debate is whether I should bother congratulating NOW or wait until their car gets YET faster and there's yet another member of the mid 13 second club. *sheesh* cut it out, will ya?
edit: editted for lack of clarity in one sentence. I meant THEIR car, not my own.

Hey, not everyone can have a 98 Trans Am doing 13.4's......that's not too bad either. :P

There's that language barrier thing again... sorry for that.
It was an attempt at being humorous over seeing the overall MM group get faster and faster each week, with totally streetable bolt-ons to boot. I'm losing track of how many times I've had to congratulate someone on getting yet a better time than their previous! So, to reword my poor attempt at humour (I already corrected my original post), do I simply shut up and wait until Sailsmen gets to his 13.8 or his 13.7 or his 13.6 before congratulating him again? These damned cars just keep getting quicker and quicker.
I have no problem with the 14.6s out of my stock Marauder. Thanks for the kudos on my 98's results, though, but for now I'm totally happy with my MM's performance given its configuration. And I certainly will never withold any congratulations to a fellow MM owner over such a successful improvement, regardless of where my own car stands in the performance ladder.
Again, sorry for the confusion, hopefully my correction above will clarify what I meant in my first post.

Naw man, no confusion here Dude. I know your previous statement was lighthearted, and encouraging, and that's how I took them. That's the same way that I meant what I said. It was lighthearted and congratulatory on my part. We cool.
