They are in Southern Cal. They usually want a stock car to use for R&D. I was going to have them use an F150 I had but it wasn't stock so they passed.
My MM is however still stock. I am not sure how this has happened but...
I will contact them for details.

Speaking of K&N, General Motors has just recently released word to their dealership service departments that they will be refusing warranty work on cars equipped with K&N oiled filters due to the risk of the owners having over-oiled the filters, causing the MAF sensors to read incorrectly. Among the symptoms are odd transmission operation and erratic running / check engine light / limited RPM range / poor acceleration.
I'm not arguing over the effectiveness (or not) of this filter when used correctly, just passing on the information that if GM is looking into things in this kind of detail, Ford and Chrysler may follow suit in the near future.
While it seems that the service bulletin provides for troubleshooting of the problem to whether or not the filter was indeed at the source of the problem, some dealers may simply look at the issue on the surface and jump to conclusions.
Word of advice: pay close attention to those filters and how you oil 'em.

Well he's 92 now and we haven't heard from him in a while...........
Can someone please go check on him! :(
Sadly he passed away. Peacefully in his sleep, I heard. Unlike the 3 passengers with him who were heard screaming all the way down the cliff...:D
