Car Show July 6

One of our local car clubs, Golden Gears, is having their big show on Saturday, July 6th. There are Top 40 trophies and club participation. I would like to see if we can get a good showing and hopefully earn the club participation award!

Time: 9 am - 4 pm
Location: Harry Grove Stadium Frederick MD

Afterward, we will have a cookout over at our house.

Booked our pet sitter and booked a room in Martinsburg, WV for July 5 & 6! (Our usual Hampton Inn is sold out so hope this location is good. It's a holiday weekend plus the 150 anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg) Let us know what we can bring to the cook out. We'll bring my SB and look forward to seeing you guys!

Currently the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott has rooms available for $169 a night. Ouch that is pricey. So I don't know if Martinsburg will be cheaper. They said in July they are changing to a hot breakfast menu so it sounds a lot like the Hampton.

Get a hotel room at the Hampton's in Martinsburg, WV. It looks to be about a 30 minute ride from Chris & Gordon's. Call me if you want more info. BUT DON"T WAIT BECAUSE IT"S THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF GETTYSBURG !!!!!

30 minutes ??? Yeah, maybe at 96 MPH average. 40 minutes to Gordon's minimum. Add another 15 minutes to the car show location. Its 48 miles to the car show location from the hotel. Hell, I am 65 miles away starting from my house and I won't be able to beat 1:15 hours by much.

I think it happened once in Gettysburg too ... but it was the middle of winter where the Black MMs fear to venture outside. ;)

I have my own theory of the Silver Birches. They seem to be represented proportionately higher than their production numbers at all major events. Could it be that the SB folks are just party people at heart and just come to have a good time? How many SB people do you know? Do they fit the profile??

Even at Carlisle this year, the Silver Birch crowd represented 25% of the attendees but only 12.5% of the production numbers. That's twice their expected showing. It happens a lot.

Of course there were 5 Blue MMs at Carlisle (12.5%) which is 4-times their production ratio of 3%. So they are twice as likely as the SBs to crash the party. :party:

DTR usually approximates their expected numbers of about 9-10%. At at Carlisle there were 5 DTRs (12.5%) or just about as expected. There will be 1 of 15 at Frederick (about 7%) just a hair under expected.
