View Full Version : Transmission problem solved?

After struggling for several years with a transmission that would hang in gear. I kept saying it acted like the transmission though the throttle was wide open when it wasn't
The only way to fix it was shut down and restart. Spent a lot of time and money. Posted hear as well as other sites, no luck.
I've run about a month without it happening now. Replaced the throttle position sensor, all the so called experts said that couldn't be it.

That doesn't make sense. There's no relation. I think it's coincidence. Usually a problem like that would most likely be due to a clogged/bad solenoid. EPC or dual pack Solenoids. Could have cleared itself. At least it works! :beer:

All of the above was done no difference. Also changed the tune and replaced some springs

if TPS was reading 100 percent, (and MM wasn't floored) the PCM is supposed to run in "preprogrammed mode" which could explain why the trans was waiting to hit a certain speed or RPM before shifting.
