2004 mm, new rebuild on motor! Now car was said to be inop when I bought it. After alittle investigation, I found bad chain guides, plastic in oil pan! So broke it down, put bought heads in the shop! Heads came back with about 12 bent valves! So reassembled, started it, ran about 60%! Check my real time data, not a lot of activity on bank 2! Like I can run it for 10 mins , and grab the exhaust manifold! So I decided to pull the motor, rebuilt the bottom end, reassembled , same problem. So now I'm thinking timing, bent intake valves! Electrical maybe! I'm lost!!!!! And help would be appreciated!

How does it run? If an entire bank is off it should idle pretty darn rough, hard to start possibly. Have you checked compression on all 8? Made sure you have spark/fuel on all 8? Any codes?

All the cams timed correctly?

Well, did compression check on bank 2, with 125 across the board! Now it starts fairly easy, revs high for a second , then into slow idle.!

Also ECM is trying to overcome a lean issue, so it's dropping a lot of fuel in the cylinders, even under throttle! Codes being lean condition on both banks! But now

Can you monitor HEGO's and fuel trims?

Your harness may be shorted out on that side. I don't think your COPs are getting voltage, so your plugs aren't firing. An unfired air/fuel mix WILL be read as lean with your O2s since they will see the unburnt O2. They do not read fuel amounts, just oxygen. The PCM adds more fuel thinking it's lean. Check the driver's side harness at the back of the head for any fraying.

Ok, fuel trims are 38.3st and 29.7 lt both banks! 895 rpm 40 psi fuel pressure , have injector pulse on both banks, new cop,s on all 8! Seems like the intake cam may be off or something! You say no spark, I've check to see if they were firing, compression test 125 across the board!

At 20 inches of vacuum, fuel injector pressure should be about 29.

Is it possible, I have another bent valve in that head! Or is it something totally different

Or the chains are off atooth or two. I've seen that happen.;)

Iam going in tomorrow and pull the covers, and check all chains

Everything is dead on! So it must be a fuel delivery problem

Ok, is it possible that the intake and exhaust cam , are swapped

I was going to mention that yesterday and then remembered that I don't think you can fully turn the engine over if you do that. Double check by getting the numbers off the cams. Post up the numbers.

Really starting to make me think that! Seems like it's possible! How can I tell

Each cam has a number stamped into it between the last 4 lobes towards the back of the engine. Typically if you can identify the bold/underlined number below, that's the easiest way to tell with my key provided.
EG: F6ZE-6A270 or YL7E-6A270-AA
Key:
Right-PS-IN 0
Right-PS-EX 2
Left-DS-IN 1
Left-DS-EX 3

No wonder his car runs poorly...it has 1 intake cam and 3 exhaust cams....

That isn't right

So your saying that the last digit is the key, if that's right , then my assumption is correct that the cams are back wards on bank 2

Problem solved! Motor shop put the cams in the wrong position on bank 2

Holy @#!$ You're lucky. I know for a fact that you can't do that with 96-98 Cobra cams. The valves will contact the piston. Make sure you triple check everything.

Yep, driving it every day! It's hard to believe, but that was it
