One is about an inch longer than the other one, I believe it's the same tail housing has interceptors

The 03 and 04 Marauder should be the same since they both use the aluminum driveshaft.. Crown Vic police cars use the aluminum driveshaft and they are shorter, thus the longer tailshaft on trans. Crown Vic civilian models use the steel driveshaft which are longer, thus the shorter tail shaft

I'm clueless. We call places and they all say they need to know which exact or bring the original one in to match it up. Only problem is the owner doesn't have time/funds to pay for his car sitting on a lift while he searches to find the right one. So I asked here maybe somebody hoarded one or know a exact link to the correct one.

Are you trying to install a aluminum drivehsaft into a non Maraduer..IE Grand Marquis or Crown Vic?

You could call Ford dealer parts and ask for part number for 04araduer as it will only have one tail shaft since it runs the aluminum drivehsaft or ask for part number for 04 Cv Police interceptor as it also has the aluminum driveshaft and will run only one tailshaft. You need the longer tailshaft if it is for a Marauder or if it for any ther panther equipped with a aluminum drivehsaft.

This is not a hard part to find, any transmission shop has these laying around quite common.

It's the same as a CVPI. The trans from a CVPI will actually go right in a MM and work just the same. I have ordered them from the dealer and it is the same part number as the CVPI..And everyone is correct, it is becuase of the driveshaft difference.
On another note, I check the wrecking yards for 99-01 CVPI's. A lot of them had the MMC (MMX) driveshaft. I just scored one from a U-pull yard for $30.00 with tax. Still had the MMC POLICE writing on the lower end about six to eight inches up from the diff end. The stripe colors are pink/green/blue although the pink tends to fade to a white color.
We have found about 4 of these so far. Good luck hunting. I have not found a wrecking yard yet that knows what they really are.
