Got the NOS package and MSD Stacker installed and finished today. Need to put at least another 500 miles on the motor before the system can even be minimally track tested. Got Jerry W's base tune in NC over the past weekend (13 March) with the NC Marauders, so with some appropriate break-in, it'll be ready to shoot. Base tune (N/A, gas only) brought 310 hp and 328 ft/lbs torque at the rear wheels. Once the Mac & Zack control arms are on, I'm headin' out!:banana2: :banana2: P:Photos in the Gallery: Current Generation>Modifications (page 1)

Glad to see you up and running. That package has much more potential than those numbers indicate. I look forward to following your progress.

Jim, so you stroked the engine, but to what stroke? Did this also include a forged steel crank, and forged pistons? Is your NOS a two stage kit?

3.765" stroke 4340 billet steel Cobra crank; cylinders bored .020 over @ 3.572, for a total displacement of 301.83 CI; forged CP dish pistons (9.5 to 1 C/R); Bullet billet steel cams, custom ground for Duration @ .50 INT 206 EXH 216; Lift INT .396 EXH .385 with C/L of 114'; 5.850 Eagle H-Beam Rods; King HP rod bearings and valve springs; Stage II port work on the heads; billet steel oil pump gears from DR, and; Titanium retainers and hardened keepers. Also did the DR tranny upgrade, level 2, and added a couple extra steel and friction plates to complete the Jerry mod. (http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/transmission/index.shtml). This is why I didn't add any of this to an already long signature. The NOS NOSzle system can operate in single or multi-stage mode (up to four stages, if anyone ever needed or wanted that many), for up to 300 hp of boost.

Sounds like $7,000 in engine build costs... ??
and you went with the low compression so you can boost it next?

Parts for the build alone were 6K. Then there was the NOSzle system ($1.4K); the PI Stallion Multidisk converter with 300M input shaft ($1.1k); DR Level two Tranny upgrade Kit ($.5k) + additional steel and friction plates ($.2k); MSD Stacker Ignition ($.2k); labor ran about $4k for the whole shooting match. It is a bullet proof drive train and the cost certainly reflects that for a motor rated for 1000 hp. I will never push it that far, since I intend on keeping it a while.

I meant parts cost, yeah yeah that's it, i meant part cost total $7k...
you should brag more about all that, not many have or will put much money into building the foundation the right way. Smart move.
