If my car doesn't sell I'm tempted to put more mods on her. Next will be stall since a SC will potentially poof my 160k motor quickly.
My question is how much traction do I lose? I do have 4.10s. But I like everyone else pull away from a light or dead stop rather spirited at times and with my stock stall backed up by 295s on the rear my tires don't spin at all or VERY little.
Those with NA motors gears and stall please chime in. You SC owners ...sorry don't count in this one because you spin regardless.
NO I don't want a stall to spin tires. They cost too darn much to want to spin them all day. But the marauder does need a stall to get moving.

Why do you think that will be the case?
Lotsa guys here well north of 100K and S/C'd. If you don't go nuts on timing and boost pressure, no problem.

Been there done that! high stall converters on a DD street car are a pain! especially on a N/A car.

Going SC @ 160k isn't asking for a bomb?
Not looking for a rocket ship just a nice 400rwhp and I'm cool

No hills. Mixed city and highway

I don't fear it. Just asking how would traction be.

I have had a 3,500 stall on a DD S/C for 130k. Best advice Zack ever gave me. It's all in the tune!

Sad but true! these motors really need a S/C to scoot! and if you did reach 400 rwhp N/A you would spend more than a S/C build to get there!:bigcry:

PI.
I removed the OEM cooler, cut off the PS cooler & moutned it on the frt sway bar.
I then added a 12"x12" cooler behind the grill. The trans temps are on the warm side so I change the fluid more often.

I cannot emphasize enough how much the tune counts with a high stall.

You need a better tune or something. Before I went SC, I was able to rip the tires in 1st no prob and chirp nicely hitting second every time. 295 Nitto 555s and 4.10s at the time too.

How's traction though when giving her some good gas from a stop. I know it'll break loose but is it a "no way it'll hook" situation?

Oh I definitely know it won't happen N/A. I was asking will going SC at 160k playing with even less borrowed time.

I know that and definitely not trying to go that route.

Why are the temps warm? The stall?

Basically same set up I have. So I'm guessing I can kiss traction goodbye with a high stall.
