EDIT: I HAVE BOUGHT A CAR! WOOT #6726
Been looking for a while to get a marauder. I currently own a 03 CVPI(haz teh modz)
I'm in Seattle Washington. would consider flying to or shipping the right car, but will require a good selection of pictures, info for me to perform a background check, and a buyers inspection.
preferably 95k miles or less, will consider cars with up to 130k.
Prefer black, but all colors are fine(NO RESPRAYS)
prefer 2004
prefer heated seats
prefer spoiler
prefer 20% or no tint
prefer black interior
don't care about cd changer
don't care about sunroof
paint/body damage will be valued at -110% retail cost
mechanical needs will be valued at -50% retail cost
shipping/travel will be valued at -100% cost
performance mods will be valued at +25-75% part cost
rust will not be accepted.
could pay as much as 13-14k for the right car, but expecting something closer to the 9-11k range.
If the car is on the west coast, I would likely fly to it and drive it back, which is significantly cheaper than shipping it from central/east.

Well, I have a 2004 DTR with Dk. Charcoal interior, heated seats here in Maple Valley. You can come see it anytime...It's in storage right now, so I'm guessing on the mileage at 34K...oops didn't notice you already pulled the trigger.

lol I forgot about this thread. Loving the Marauder. Driving the vic most days but the rauder comes out once or twise a week.
mods are lining up, got tint done right away.
Took it to the Mustang roundup in bellevue washington(worlds largest gathering of mustangs) and it took 2nd in its catagory. A good freind of mine owns a mobile dyno and we got the rauder on there, 235rwhp(such a flat curve from 4000-6000rpm)
then I performed all my mainenance, synthetic oil and motorcraft filter, spark plugs(1 stage colder in anticipation of a tune) fuel filter(nasty coffee grounds looking stuff came out the old one, I'm sure it was holding back my top-end) cleaned MAF and throttle(needs porting) and replaced the diff oil.
ordered a spolier and gods head bagdes, got some OEM fog lens here on MM.net to replace the one broken one.
anyway, heres the stuff you been waiting for:

I also ordered the Certificate from the ford performance group.

and for those who didnt read the other thread, the story of negotiations is a great one. the car in aberdeen was traded in a the ford dealer that it was originally bought at, the car was a one owner and spent its entire life in washington state. The dealer posted the car on the internet with a sticker price of 12,500. I Drove down the the saturday after I saw the car on the web. Took it for a drive, and gave it a throughou look over(I'm a mechanic at a ford dealer) mechanicly, the car was near perfect, a slight brake pulseation and it needed a wheel balance, but nothing that will cost me anything. the body was a 7, some rock chips and minor paint issues, but the thin piece of trim on the lower part of the rear fascia was cracked and held together with a piece of tape, also one of the fog lens broken.
I liked the car and we went inside and sat down. he started getting paperwork together and I asked, "so whats the real price" the salesman's responce "that is the real price" I looked at him like really? "what were you thinking" he asked. "I was thinking about 9 thousand" I replied. "Oh we've only had the car a few days and it's had allot of attention, theres no way we could do anything like that. Whats a more serious number?" the salesman asked. I replied: "If there was nothing wrong with the car I would offer you 11k out the door, but the broken trim and the fog light are going to cost me to fix. So my serious offer, my only offer, is 10,800, after taxes."
"ok" he says "let me go talk to the finance guys" he returned shortly and says: "no we cant do anything close to that, we could do like 12k, before taxes. theres lots of people that want this car, theres a millionair who lives in the bay that collects cars, were going to call him to check it out" "theres always allot of interest in marauders, but theres not allot of people that are willing to put the money out there. ten-eight, out the door" I replied. he left and returned once more: "we could do 11,500, before taxes" I was disappointed I made the trip for nothing, but I knew it was not the deal it should be. "thanks for showing me the car" and I walked out. as we were pulling out of the lot, the finance and sales guys came running out. "11,500 after taxes" he says to me through the car window. "ten-eight, its a fair number" I replied. the finance guy with a discusted look on his face looks at me and proceeds to tell him how this car will be sold by the end of the week and they'll get more than my offer for it. I responed with a simple "good luck" and we left.
maybe it was that I'm a young guy(22) or maybe it was that I drove 250 miles to look at it, but they thought they'd get that much out of me I guess.
I proceeded my search, looking at cars in the mid-west, and a MM.net member messaged me with a craiglist listing in california, nearly the same car, in about the same condition, I carfaxed it and had it sent in for a buyers inspection. the car had 15k less miles, but did have 3 previous owners, but the seller was asking 8600, after the pictures, buyers inspection and carfax I asked him to knock 200 off, for 8400. I would then need to fly there($300) and drive it back($300) and pay taxes once I get it back(10% / $850) putting total cost in the 9800 area. It was the wensday after looking at the aberdeen car, and I was about to send a deposit to the california car, and book a flight, guess who calls? the aberdeen dealer:
"still interested in the marauder?" he asked over the phone. "yea" "well would you take it for 11k out the door?" "no" "still stuck on 10.8?" "no" "what do you mean no?" the biggest **** eating grin came over my face as I said: "I've been looking around and the market it a little softer than I thought, I'm about to send a deposit and book a flight for a car in california that's nicer and has less miles that yours" he hesitated, "how much does he want?" the salesman inquired, I replied: "8400" he paused: "so a flight and gas to get back, plus taxes, puts you at 9600-9800 huh?" "thats what I came up with" I said. "well what if we could get closer to that?" he asked. "you tell me how close you can get and then I'll let you know, but do it quick cause im ready to book a flight." I said. he called back 30 minutes later, "absolute best deal we can do, its not getting any cheaper than this, 10k, after taxes out the door." I blew up with excitement, but held it back when I said: "make sure its washed and has a full tank of gas, I'll be there saturday morning."
and that was that. Moral of the story? when a kid makes a fair offer of 10.8k, take it when you have the chance, otherwise he'll end up getting it for 10k.
I got there to pick it up, and I began talking with the finance guy as all the paper work was being done "I guess you were right" I said. "about what?" he asked. "the car would sell by the end of the week." he shrugged it off and began telling me about how the marauder had three times more interest than any other car they had on the lot, including a brand new roush and gt500. He then began telling me about another guy who was really trying to buy it, and I thought he was just blowing smoke. about a week after I got the car I found out that he was not lying to me and that person was anthony, a member on here and CVN who owns a MGM, and who I'd met a couple times at the CVN meets. I got a kick out of that(BTW good luck on your marauder hunt Anthony)

Awesome story, working at a dealer on the sales end of the biz for almost 12 years I can appreciate that story:) (I'm NOT in sales; I'm in inventory/lot control but I get to see a lot of action)
My hunt has ceased, as I am landed on a MM.net member's car...and should be the proud owner by the weekend!
