Looking for some input for a meet in April. As I posted in the old thread I'm limited to the 10,18 and 25th, a couple of the guys seemed to think the 18th would be best ,possibly up in the Hudson Valley area -its a real nice ride up the Taconic Pkwy although I'm up for any where on these dates-as long as we have  !

April 18 th works here.......and anywhere is fine to us.....

So an idea, again anywhere is fine, but to make it easy for those traveling, there is a Charlie Browns at the Outlet Mall in Fishkill 100 yds or so off 84 Exit 13. Convient from Taconic, Route 9, 684, 87 and of course 84...... Very easy to find that's for sure.

Charlie Browns (http://www.charliebrowns.com/locations/fishkill.htm)

At night it's packed, but at noon Sat/Sun I'm not sure. So before deciding on this palce, we'd have to know that. I'm going to the home show at Marist today so not going south but if anyone else knows the crowd there and in the parking lot on a Sunday please chime in..... that's just our 2 cents.

Or anywhere else, we're game......

Yep click on the word Charlie Browns, in my last post it'll tell ya where, exactly. Is there really a Fishkill anywhere else in the world, lol.
PS - Still not sure on the crowd in the lot/restaurant on a Sunday there...... :rasta:

Might be too much of a trip if some are going to that.

DL04, wasup with the John Harvard's mini-meet? Wanna do the 25th of April? That's about the only free weekend I have left for April and early May.

I think the 24/25 was out cause on the last thread we said we couldn't do 24/25 April.

But of course if that's the date you all need to meet, that's it, just please don't have it in our backyard in April then, lol. That's all we ask, lol.

The 17th weekend has something in Philly, the 24th weekend has a few members meeting in LI (we can make it then anyway & sundaydog can't make the 25th).

So in keeping with DL04's original post, that leaves only April 10th if we want a good turn out, right? We're ok for the 10th....everyone else ok?

I'm good for April 10th. Always like driving north in the Hudson Valley, so Fishkill is cool.

If, for some reason, Charlie Brown's in Fishkill does not work out, Vern mentioned a while back that there is an Applebee's in Hawthorne, NY that might be a good location. It's right off the Saw Mill River Parkway, about 10 miles north of Bennigan's in Yonkers. Not trying to confuse the issue, just thought I would mention a backup location. Fishkill is fine with me.

Hope most folks can make it and aren't tied up for Easter weekend.

C'mon everyone post your availability! Time to break the record with 20 + cars.

Nice- maybe we can get a caravan going from the Island- its about an hour and 20 min ride,I think its on RT.9 just north of RT84{exit 13}.I'll be leaving Smithtown around 10 or 10:30. I usually take the Throggs Neck to the Hutch to 684 to 84 to 9- anyone interested let me know.

FYI - For a more scenic route, more turns and twists, trees, hills, yadda yadda yadda ....take the Hutch to the Cross Westchester to the Sprain to the Taconic and @ RT 84, head West to Exit 13. It's less miles and a bit more challenging then 684/84 but more the driving experience, if you're looking for that. I've always found it quicker too, but I know the road and drive a wee bit faster than the limit. :)

Be careful on the Taconic.
I was pulled over in January for doing 75.
I went to Court in Kent last night and got off with a fine ($130) and no points...'whew' !!

The Trooper says that the Judge drives his car on the parkway and hates to get passed up by speeders.
I was stopped just shy of I-84...
Keep your radar detectors in working condition !!!

I may be able to make April 10th.
I am trying to get out of work for that day since it is a holiday weekend.
If it works out I'll be there...

We gotta break our record and have 20+ Marauders !!!
Make sure the facilities have R O O M for all of us !!!

Hey jrzgrl, yeah this is what I was talking about, lol. We wish you could too, maybe Marauderville 2?

MIB the beauty of a speeding ticket in NY is that you can always plea it down, lol. Be respectfull at the time of ticket, plead not guilty and don't request a supporting dep, and you'll always be able to plead it down to a non moving. I do it several times a year...........:)

It was a great day for a ride in the country. Only had 9 Marauders show, 1 was a real nice 'CLASSIC' Marauder - and out of the other 8 all 4 colors were there even had a real phkinqk Mustang!{although once I saw those seatbelts, rollbar and no helmets I decided not to ask for a ride!}The ride up the Taconic Pkwy was great- the ride home was a little more interesting. Almost had a boxspring make a landing on my hood, don't know what it looked like to the 2 Marauders behind me but to me it looked like an out of control B52 looking to land on the hood of my Marauder,I swerved at the last second and luckily the two behind me got through without a problem :up
Hey Ralph how high did that thing get -looked like 50' from where I was sitting! :bounce: All in all it was a great day, hope we can get a few more cars at the mini-meet on the 25th at John Harvards/Smithaven mall.

Had a fun time at the meet in Fishkill. Maybe there were "only 9" Marauders, but it was a great group. Was terrific to see the four colors side-by-side. And we had a very fine red 69 Marauder driven to the meet by, you guessed it, 69Marauder. And a very cool Mustang driven by PhkinQk.

It was fun hooking up with DL04 and jgc61sr2002 on the Taconic on the way up, and I'm happy to report no flying mattresses on that part of the ride.

And when I got home, NBC was broadcasting Men In Black in hi-def. Another cool large black car. "Fasten your seatbelt . . . please."

I'll post some pix from the meet within the next coupla days (have to use the computer at work).

Hey, Jay, don't ya think it's time to add the new toy to your signature? Hint: really cool blue car, tough-sounding name, folks around here really love 'em, a classic in the making, not offered in '05 . . .

Troopcar,

I'm always behind with the paperwork.

At least I got my taxes done.

Saw the PICS thanks for taking the time to post them.

I had a great time seeing everyone and all Marauder colors last weekend in Fishkill. Thanks for the compliments on my 69. I let up when I saw that disaproving look from the old lady on the other end of the parking lot, could have smoked 'em right past her. The old Marauder is fun to drive, but our new ones are light years better in handling. Glad everyone got home safely. Bill
