My EATC has failed. Does any one offer O ring repair? Can I buy a repaired unit and send in damaged one? Does any one offer full service swap out?

FBM, FTW.
Send him a PM, he can get you fixed right up; he can either repair yours and send it back or swap out with a repaired core.

Are you sure it's the O-rings? Mine had that issue and then a couple years later the circuit board failed, causing me to get a new used one on ebay.

It depends what problem he's having. When the O-rings fail, switching from floor to the other vents gets slower and slower until it's eventually stuck blowing on floor. Does this sound like your problem?

And when the board fails you can't change the temp setting.

RocsMerc - It's been my experience repairs EATCs that the o-ring failure will result in air (hot or cold) only coming out the defrost vents.
tbone - I've seen board failures that resulted in not being able to control air distribution (like bad o-rings), no fan control, no button lights and no display on the panel.

For me it was the temp control.
for what it's worth. . .
I replaced o-rings a few weeks ago, air coming out of correct vents now but fan speed often goes high, I can get it back to low by rotating thumbwheel vigorously a few times, but then it'll go high speed after awhile, sometimes right away, steering wheel fan control only works when fan is on low. :mad2:
at least I have control of temperature. . .for now
debating on whether or not to replace BCM

If the thumb wheel changed the speed momentarily, it might just be dirty contacts. You can try to spray some contact cleaner on it....

thanks, tried that electrical contact spray the other day. . .no improvement.

I doubt it's the BCM. You can try tapping on it when the system acts up. Otherwise you need a new EATC. Ebay.

Thanx lots of good feedback.
some had asked...whats it doing.
Everything comes out the defrost. i can do floor and defrost but not vents. High vacuum circumstances can cause it to behave...for a minute. but its all defrost all the time. Been skirting it for years with wd40 and the air compressor. Spray and blow. works for a long time but not any more.
Probablyy gunky inside by now!
Ebay 200 dollars...Remand
Sugar loaf ford..660 and 2 hours labor @97 p/h no gaurantee it would be any different, just new.
Again thannks for the help and the leads.

The bad o-rings are causing a loss of vacuum, that is why air only comes out of the defrost vents.
I can repair it for you for $35.00 (provided the WD-40 didn't damage anything inside) with an "as long as the car is running" guaranty.
It will take you about 15 minutes to remove it.
To remove EATC:
Tools: 7mm socket or nutdriver & 10mm socket or nutdriver.
1. Open passenger side door.
2. Grasp the center dot matrix trim and pull towards you.
3. Continue to work the center trim loose all the way to the steering column.
4. You can unplug the rear defroster switch or leave it connected.
5. Remove the four(4) 7mm screws holding the EATC in the dash opening.
6. Disconnect the three(3) electrical connectors.
7. Remove the two(2) 10mm nuts holding on the vacuum hose connector.
8. Send it to me. I repair it and send it back the same day I get it.

Correct, it's not the BCM. If the BCM is bad there will be no fan.
I have a spare EATC with a badly scratched face plate I can swap out the fan rheostat for you. PM me.
